  • New Brake Discs Alternatives

I’m looking to replace my (prone to a bit of rust) brake discs on my Mk7.5 with some two-part slotted/drilled discs that would be a simple swap without altering the callipers.

Would be very happy to be able to replace front AND back.

I found some once online but can’t for the life of me locate the site again. 🤫

    Anyone have any ideas?

I noticed ECS Tuning has a front /rear kit, two piece (OEM replacement - plug and play) for the Mk7. Perhaps they cover 7.5 as well. And here it is....

Caveat to that: I have not checked to see whether spacers would be required to maintain the stance of the wheels.

If they do will be illegal as spacers are defintely illegal Aussie wide

2-piece rotors are pointless unless you're really tracking your car multiple times a year. The ECS rotors are nice, but you'll also be paying very hefty USD > conversions + huge shipping fees + import duties. You're looking at $2500AUD after shipping and import duties for the ECS kit. Not really worth it.

Brake rotors designed for the MK7/MK7.5 won't change your offset.

Brakesdirect are one of the best local options, just call and make sure they have stock before buying from them.

DBA blanks or T2s for street-only cars, DBA T3s if you're throwing in a few track days. Look at ceramic pads if you hate the dust from the stock brake pads. Might also be worth getting braided lines and changing the brake fluid for better feel.

The new R performance brakes are listed at $515 each set of pads $500 bit expensive but they are 2 piece permanent stud fixed with an alloy bell with cross flow cooling between the bell and the disc. I think 2 kg lighter than standard.
