Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

    Golf MK6 R Resonator Delete

    Hi guys,

    Just wondering if anyone has done a resonator removal on their MK6 Golf R at all? I'm looking at getting it done this coming week, just to improve the sound for now until I later get a full system.

    Has anyone done this as of yet? I'd love to hear what peoples thoughts are

      Herd it on my mates GTI, sounded really tough with minimal drone

        It's a popular cheap mod for the MK6 GTI (and current Polo GTI) as the resonator is quite large on the GTI and it makes a significant difference to the noise level. On the Mk6 R the exhaust setup is different and the resonator is much smaller - although the effect would be similar just not as much of a difference in sound as the GTI.
