MK6 GTI engine light flashing in traffic?

Has any one here seen their engine light flashing on the dash before? It went away after a while and never came on again.
So far it's been 100km and it hasn't appeared again.

PS: I've searched on Google but couldn't really get much help on it.

Any advice would be helpful.

Worth getting it scanned.

The light is only a symptom

It flashes when there is a chance of the cat being damaged , bad misfires will make it flash instead of a solid light, or actually it could be a sign of a bad or broken intake manifold, fairly common now. Only way to know where to start is have it scanned
