  • 118tsi coil pack

    cheers

I believe the part number is: 036905715G but i am not 100% certain. It's hard to find info on these coil packs on the internet. If you have a look at your stock coil packs then you will be able to confirm the part number.

Looks like they are about 25 pounds each (about $50 each). Im sure you can buy from the UK or ebay cheaper than what VW will sell them locally.

Have a look at the R8 coilpack group buy on this forum - there might be some 118tsi folk that have proven they fit.

GB isn't going right now but you can buy direct from ECS tuning

I don't think they are the same coil pack as the 2.0 litre engines.

Also I don't think the US get the 118tsi so you won't find cheap parts there either unfortunately.

The 1.4 coil pack is different to the 2.0 unit. Its shorter, different shape and different connector.

Sadly with the 1.4 not available in the US lots of parts suppliers can't help on the engine front.

I believe the UK gets the twin charger in Scirocco form and make others so some stuff is available there.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

The Mk6 118TSI was available in the UK too (badged as the 1.4 TSI).

                Are you sure?

The Scirocco came in both the 1.4L TSI 122PS (90kW Turbo) and the 1.4L TSI 160PS (118kW) Twincharged setup. I didn't think the Golf came in the twincharge spec?

That would be a fair indicator

Last time I looked for parts for mine I could only find the Scirocco, nothing for the Golf form. Maybe it's just a case of not bothering with performance mods for that particular model when most people will start with a GTI... in any case maybe I should have a look again now

How much are genuine VW ones? VW ones have a 2 year warranty if they fail again.

$100 per coil pack. Had one installed today following misfire in cylinder 3.
