My tips are just some cheap ones from an online exhaust shop. They cost me about $50 posted so real cheap but they look pretty good and are real loud on WOT being single walled, they're like megaphones!

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hows the fitment of the 42DD downpipe? I wonder if 42DD have revised the design in the last few years (doubt it but who knows), because it left a lot to be desired when i had one.
I cant fault the sound though - with the cat and resonator it sounded great.

42DD Downpipe
I've had no fitment issues at all. I had a crack in the resonator baffle and they sent a replacement out from America under warranty. More than happy with the product and service. The sound is the best I have heard from a aftermarket downpipe.Last edited by prh1973; 27-01-2016, 08:17 PM.

I was looking at this same setup, resonated with cat, into stock cat-back - just not sure of material type.

This is not my car, but you can see some pics of the EuroJet downpipe here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...led-56947.html
The SPM/EuroJet downpipe is the best fitting downpipe for the Mk6 GTI, with the CTS close behind. I would never buy another 42DD downpipe after the issues i had with mine. It was rubbish.Last edited by Lucas_R; 06-06-2016, 04:57 PM.

I had no issues with my pipe, but will echo Lucas' sentiment about going non-resonated - it added a touch extra growl under heavy acceleration but otherwise barely noticeable.
