42DD Downpipe

Hey guys I am thinking of getting a 42DD down pipe and APR tune for my Golf R and am wanting to hear and feel it first. Anyone in Brisbane got these mods that wouldn't mind letting me have a look?

once its in your welcome to come for a run. it might not be for a while though, work commitments mean i have little time at the mo...

Ask Greg Roles if any of his costumers might do you a demo. He is a Viezu agent so you might have opportunity for a run in a tuned one?

Although I don't live in Brisbane, or have that combination of upgrades on my R,
I did have them on my mk5 gti, and you won't be disappointed. A fantastic combo.
I'm about to get a 42 DD pipe for my R (which I just got) - hearing amazing reviews about them, however you should check out a BPS tune for your car - they are located in Brisbane, and are doing custom tunes- specifically for your car, and can be tweaked (I have no affiliation to them) - I live in WA and will be getting a BPS tune for my R,

As above, don't have that combo on an R but can give it a thumbs up from a GTI perspective, and Greg is great to deal with.

Speak to Greg Roles, he is in Ferny Grove, can't get much closer than that. Not sure he'd have one on the shelf as they move pretty quickly.

Yes, I suggest getting it through Greg at carformance, I've only heard excellent things about his customer service
I bought mine off a forum member,
But there is also a great special on 'Parts4Euro' right now:

Either way, it'll be coming from the States, so you'll have to wait a few weeks.

Also remember if you go with an APR tune, then get a down pipe, you will need to get a 'stage2' ECU file -and if you don't have their hardware (APR downpipe), they will charge you another $250 for that (stage2).
Alternatively, you can get the O2 sensor spacer from 42 dd then you wont need the reflash (stage 2)

DGS Golf R 42DD downpipe

Hey guys

Just wanted to share a clip I recorded so you can hear the sound of the exhaust after a 42DD catted and resonated down pipe install. This is connected to the stock rear exhaust with the rear muffler flapper mod done to keep flapper in the open position. Awesome sound!!

Love the sound. I have this set up myself but with bigger tips and I love it. I wouldnt change it for anything. Except for my some of my heat shields that rattle a bit when cold!

Silver only unfortunately. If you want black, have a look at the tips that 42DD (42 Draft Designs) sell, and also see Frazza from this forum. Frazza was importing some gloss black tips from o'seas and i think they were a BMW part.
