    How to Disable ESP

We had the ability to disable the MK6 GTI some 3.5 years ago.
Sounds interesting, do you make that available to 'clients' that may also find that useful?

Apparently this message is so important that it needs to be flashed onto the screen every few seconds, hiding the selected gear indicator and taking attention away from the road you're trying to drive without ESP enabled.
      Hahaha

Turn on cruise control, oooops, no odometer

ESP always on, as useful as all the f'ing fuel consumption read outs (on a Golf R, why) - yes, I know, third party software/hardware fixes that.

Just doing a GMG, VW clearly forgot the R is their "flagship" "sports hatch"

Must be why you have to option it up with gear that should come standard.

Same ABS controllers which contain the same processors & software (month to month production) - GTI to Golf R - So yes, Information that is the same & the process is the same, the actual data varies car to car. Don't forget our stage 4 Golf R is a 2011 with a single stage ESP - You think we haven't worked out how to go around that yet?

Allan, on the Mk6 with single stage ESP, it can effect how the ABS functions - so it would be a track only thing. It also lights up a heap of warning signals on the dash. To be honest, the only person who drove it & was considerably quicker with it disabled was Warren Luff. I found I worked better driving within the safety confines, especially on cold tyres

              How to Disable ESP

People looking how to do it as opposed to it being possible

I understand why as a business you wouldn't share this on a public forum

              All sorts of liability issues

I was mistaken it seems as I thought they changed hardware and software of the unit mid 2011 when the MY12 R rolled out the door

Yep, and I have experienced the "full off" mode myself, and on the track you really have to know what you are doing (and be prepared to have a few spins whilst getting used to it) - I would never run it on the road nor advise anyone to even attempt it.
