I know you have said your having trouble, but have you tried an audio guy? It's essentially the same as putting in an amp in the boot except you also whip off the bootlid cover and unbolt the old badge too

If you were in Sydney I'd tell you to drop by and I'd lend a hand to get it in, sadly it's a bit of a hike

I have been wanting to install a RVC since I got my GTI 6 months ago. I got it ex-demo so didnt have the option of getting it installed at the factory. The main concern for me is getting the money for it and risking the install heh.

...that's the easy bit. Harder is to put it back with 2 hands only, especially in Tiguans.

EDIT: The drain pipe. I ordered one over the weekend and picked it up today for the grand sum of $14.65 Sure I could have probably made something up on the cheap… but really, it's under $15.

Fast forward eight years and the little back grommet on the bottom of the drain pipe seems to have sheared where it goes through the boot lid meaning it wouldn't be draining out like it should. Seems prices have gone up, it was $20.90 this time around and I'll pick up the part tomorrow.

Loving that I documented this one so nicely so it should be easy enough to get it in there and replace it.

And this is why I love forums, I didn't even have to go out of my way to find this thread, putting that part number into Google to see where I could order one (before I just went to the dealership) and this thread is one of the first links anyway! Nice.
