The dealer has provided me with a VWA checklist that they work to for each service.
Trouble is it differs a great deal from what is outlined in my service book.
So the issue is with VW and not the dealer as I see it
Judging by the standard of the owners manual I shouldn't be suprised that the log book is an inaccurate POS2010 R36 Sedan

Anyway Golfwagen quoted a reasonable price for the next service on the R, so I'll most likely take it there also.
What about warranty work? i want to get the clip fix done for the annoying wastegate/exhaust rattle on the wife's Tiguan, i guess that will have to go back to VW for that?MY11 Golf R - Rising Blue - 5DR - DSG - 19" Black OZ Ultralegerra - Leather - Sunroof - MDI - Euro Plates - Milltek Exhaust - Bluefin - SOLD

It was the 30,000km service (16 months ownership)
The bill was $700 which surprised me a bit but I thought at the time if that's the cost then so be it.
My wife drove the car home and when I drove it that night I was a bit surprised that the "200km to service" warning came up so I reset the MFD myself.
As the invoice specifically stated that the service indicator had been reset it left me with little confidence that the work had been done as stated.
As I looked at the invoice I discovered that according to the book a 30,000km service is a interval service but I've been given an inspection service which is a far more comprehensive (and expensive) sevice.
They even charged me for replacing the brake fluid which the book states should not be done until after 3 years.
All this extra work was not advised to me prior to the service.
I trusted them to do the right thing but I think I've been over serviced and ripped off.
Is this the case? My car is not subjected to severe operating conditions
Also, the 30k is more thorough than the 15k IIRC.
I now take my car to an independant & we discuss what needs to be brought forward & what can wait. heaps better than the 'one size fits all" attitude at the dealer.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Any recent feedback on VW in Victoria Park (John Hughes) ?
Rang around about 15000km service and got the following quotes:
Wangara - $420
Osborne Park - $380
John Hughes - $385
Golfwagen - $270-280
Quattro Motors - $350-400
Although the last two don't offer software update, so seems like no go for me then.

Cheapest I have found was Golfwagon in Wangara.
Had my car in for warranty issues yesterday so got my 22500 (interval service) done at Wangara was around $380. I do like the service there, mainly because I like Tash and get along well with her.MY14 Audi S3 - Misano Red, S-tronic, Performance pack with parade red trim.
