  • Suggestions for 15000km service in WA

    Hi All,

Sorry If I'm posting in the wrong forum.

I'm due for my 12 month service (now have done 12000km) and live in WA. Had my 6 month service at Wangara- they were nice but expensive ($395 and that's really just for an oil change). I have phoned them twice now to book my next service and want to haggle for a price, however the service guys are always busy and do not get back to me.

I've been quoted $380 at Osborne Park VW and $321 at John Hughes Vic Park VW... so I guess Wangara won't haggle and won't return my calls.

I bought my car from Osborne Park and had some problems with them... and Vic Park is very inconvenient.

Any suggestions in WA for a reasonable priced service at a place that has the right equipment for the 118TSI? Anyone been to Golfwagen

    Thanks

We got our A3 50000km service done at Quattro Motors in Burswood, it was $460 including new brake pads and labour for changing them.

Haven't hit our first service on our new Golf Wagon yet, but Wangara VW were great to deal with in buying it, not sure on servicing...

I haven't used them myself but I have heard quattro motors are decent, they are also the WA APR dealers. I'm probably going to give them a try for my services once I get my car.

      Haha beat me to it

Wow, that's very poor form of Wangara to jip you with a 6 month service, the service book states your car only needs 12 month/15k km servicing!

I took my 118TSI to Golfwagen. No dramas, very efficient, had all the VAG equipment and approved oil/parts etc, it came to ~$295 and there is a very nice coffee shop just out the front if you want to wait for the ~1¼hours it takes. Recommended.

            Thanks everyone,

I might give Golfwagen a go. You have to wonder why Wangara VW (and the other dealers) are charging so much when there is much cheaper competition.

            I appreciate you quick replies.

Under any and all circumstances stay away from Wangara and Osborne Park VW dealerships for your servicing - (or really anything)...

I've only ever heard - and read horror stories from both. Have a search in these and the vwgolf.net.au forums to see what I'm on about.

                I'm going to Quattro's!

I had my 7500km serivce at Wanagra - have to say yes it was expensive but the service was great and they provided me with a loan car. Because of the hours that I work, I dropped my car off the night before the service and picked up the loan car.... took the loan car to work the next day and then picked my car up in the arvo. It was uber convenient.
I have also been told that Golfwagon are good and also in NOR.
I am due for my 15000km service in about a months time and will take it back to Wanagra because I unhappy with the tint (this was done where I bought the car from at/for Melville DVG - terrible after sales customer care!!, they had 'supposedly' fixed the tint bubbles) and the service girl has promised to get one of thier tint guys to fix it for me.
Keen to know what you think of Golfwagon and what the cost difference is!

My experience with Wangara VW is more than good.

I have been getting my and my daughters car serviced there.. when I had problems (famous supercharger squeak) with 118TSI, they provided me with loan car (free of charge) for couple of days.
When they where changing w/pump on my GTI again free loan car for couple of days.

For servicing (because it 30 km from my home) I usually wait a couple of hours at the dealership.

I had my Polo GTI serviced at Quattro ever since it was new and they've always been great and the price reasonable. I'll be taking my Golf there also.

You bag those dealerships, only by word of mouth from someone else, yet you have no first hand experience to relate. Your opinion is not really valid on this occasion.

I've never had any issues with Wangara, bought my R from there and took that and our new Tiguan back there for their 1000km complimentary check overs, also taking the Tiguan in this Friday to get some warranty work done.

Actually bought the Tig from Melvilles, not a very good experience at all and their after sales/service department was shocking.

Ive had all of the work on both my Audis done at Quattro and can say been happy always - they are also happy for me to buy bits and they only charge (good rates) for labour.

I've never used Golfwagen as they are too far away for me, but I've only ever seen good stories about them on here

                              OK FJ,

You win - I have indeed had personal experience with BOTH dealerships and on BOTH occasions have been almost litigation level shafted. After buying my golf through one of these companies (they're sister companies) and having it re-looked at by the other, I've been lied to (though I suspect that comes with part of the industry) - cheated out of certain add-ons which were promised at sale, had my car damaged in several ways when it was in for a completely different reason.

I've taken the car to another dealership who've complained that theyre getting 'too many' calls from customers with similar complaints as mine.

There are also entries on these forums from other users who've had extensive damage done to their car when it was put in for servicing - only to be lied to also (the dealership claimed it was 'like that' before it came in)...

Sh*t customer service is one thing, but when your pride and joy is getting damaged / and that damage is then not even admitted, we're crossing into another level. A level that I believe is in the best interests of people at least knowing about.

I didn't mention my experience in my original because A) I don't want to be identified, and B) because fanboi's like you would see it as just a single experience...

Like it or not, not everyone is going to have a positive experience with every company - EVERYONE'S opinion is equally relevant. I'd hate for somebody to go to dealerships where I've personally suffered car damage and not at least having warned them.

                              Get over yourself.

                              And...

As for hearing some pretty horific stories about me? It's a slanderous comment dipsh*t... you should be more careful what you say. I CAN (and now HAVE) backed up what I've commented on with facts. You can't - which puts you (and this forum's administratos) in a very precarious legal position.
