Tried my LED globes with built in resistors - actually not the right globe for the golf (not a T10) but tried it on the Skoda - nice light but threw up error codes

Use these, they worked on mine and a couple of other crew on here! Not to bright, just plugged straight in no code, no worries

picked my R up yesterday and LED lenses are the last things I could worry about.
There is so much to enjoy that no LED's, to me at least, make no diff at all. A good Euro number plate..well thats what I think completes the exterior. Apart from Euro's the car wants for absolutely nothing. Its brilliant as it is!

That's why I've only done this after 7 months of owning the car and after I've already done new intercooler, fuel pump, downpipe/motorsports cat, stage 2+ ecu, replaced the DSG paddle shifters, OSIR foot rest, 64GB USB key (too small) for my personal CD collection in VBR MP3 form, left aspherical mirror glass, front & rear Lakin Custom Brackets & Plate covers for my Euro plates, Ventureshield wrap, Solargard tint, and new exterior and interior detailing process and products.

I've only fitted some "R" Tails and the LED number plate lights! 50% success rate!

Got another email from the seller... they are investigating it, and will get back to me. They are checking their stock to see if they have any from an older batch to try in the interim!

I was just thinking... for Sydney members who have R-Dash lights fitted and DON'T have any AM issues, is there a chance to see if we who have the issue could try your lights on our cars to see if it corrects itself? I'd love to track the problem down... I LOVE the lights, but HATE not being able to listen to AM (yes... I probably am a grumpy old man!).

Sorry if this is buried in the thread, but I've got some LED T10 globes ordered but I know they'll throw an error code. Does anyone know if we can recode this via VAGCOM like the R tail lights? I'm just surprised no one is doing this considering the globes are only $2.25 delivered for 2 off eBay.

No one knows how to do this yet unfortunately. That's why people buy lights which are designed to not throw codes (other than the fact that those LED "globes" are usually rubbish).

Why so? Wouldn't those "globes" be what are inside your R Dash housing? I saw these globes in Autobarn and they looked great, albeit at $25 as opposed to $2. What is rubbish about them?

Nope, not at all. The R dash housing has about a 20 LED array and a housing designed for them (I haven't counted, but there's a lot). Those replacement globes vary in design, but effectively have 1 to 3 leds in them, and they're in a housing which is design for a regular bulb instead of a LED.

I fitted these blue coated halogen hybrid T10 globes. Came free with some Phillips H7 globes I got for the Skoda. I think they put out a nice white light with no led stuffing around. You can pick up a pair for a few bucks.
