LED Number Plate Lights

In the wagon it is a T10/194/w5w or what ever. I think from what I know, some other models use the festoon bulb.

Those bulbs you got don't look overly bright at all. I'm thinking or the $20 I'll give them a go. Was the installation quite painless? They don't look as 'complete' as the OEM VW Ones.

If you could post your thoughts on the installation it would be great.

I've taken the plunge and ordered OEM ones from VW Burwin for $90 each. Exxy, I know. Hopefully the warning light doesn't show up!

Took me 2 mins, I have done all the interior, the parkers and plate lights. I reckon that the plate lights were the easiest. Just use a flat head screwdriver(with something between driver and paint so you don't scratch it) pry out the casing, take off the plastic enclosure, replace the bulb with the LED, chuck it all back in and hey presto

Just tried fitting these to my Golf R but got the "check number plate lighting" message and the warning light. Bummer, as they look pretty good. Oh well, worth a try.

Bugger... I ordered a set of these globes from a UK eBay dealer last week! Did you get the Australian delivered ones?

Two more weeks till my OEM VW ones arrive from Germany. Will keep you guys posted.

Yes... let us know, this might be my only option if I get a bulb fail warning as well!

Yes the Aussie delivered ones. Nice and easy to install, shame they didn't work.

Spewin, why would they work on my wagon but not your R? Different obc? I have different ones from same dude that came up with the error, they had 4 LEDs facing directly down, thought it might be cause they had 1 less LED!? they were too bright anyway, put them on my
x-trail, they look good

Not sure - must admit I haven't tried changing just one to see if it is one particular bulb or both. I've left the LED ones on for now and will have another look one evening. Maybe I'll take a photo of the bulb so you can compare with the ones you fitted? I'll also check the original bulbs to see if it has a different part number on it.

Don't stress too much, worth a shot for $20!

Quick update - It turns out that just one of them is producing the error, the other one is error free, so maybe I ended up with one dodgy one? I've emailed the seller to see what can be done about a swapover.

I just did my tail/ brake/reverse and rear indicators with LEDs tonight
Once you start you can't stop! Only thing left that is oem now are front indicators and I think I'll leave them as is.
Let us know how you go?!
