Most dealers have already indicated there will be no discounts for the Edition 35, this makes them roughly $4000 dearer than an equivalent GTI. This is before the discount that most of us are able to get with the standard car. I will let you decide if there is value in the Edition 35, setting aside the emotional part of the decision.

Hehehe... yeah, when a GTI has the Golf R's engine and soul, is it really still "just a GTI" ?
It also has the Golf R's tailights, skirts, mirror caps, and probably other things. And that's in addition to the myriad of things that the standard GTI shares with the R, being that they're so closely related...
I mean, lets not forget that the Golf R name was possibly going to be GTI-R when they had decided that R20 wasn't suitable.

I reckon there's loads of value in the ED35 for those for whom the EA113 + K04, tails, skirts, distinctive rims etc add value.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG
