"three is a crowd" with two real clutches you also get a mechatronic control unit that has a mind of its own.

Looking at the video they appear to be targeting a female audience, sure doesn't make me want to buy one! day time running lights look crap as well.

        • Pretty keen to get my hands on one to see what can be extracted from the powerplant; if the Mk V Pirellis are an indication of what can at least be achieved then it's looking very tasty indeed.

Not really digging the advertising campaign they've got going on for it - but can't help but feel there is a certain element of truth to it. I've seen many girls driving around in them, my friend just got one recently too... but she's always been a car enthusiast so that's all good.

          • I don't see much value in a CW manual 35 GTI @ $48500 driveaway. Too close to R money for my liking.

In the meantime, I'm happy with my $39k driveaway MKVI GTI! APR looks like a good option.

              • While you're at it, which dealerships did you get them from and was this during the June promotion? I was keen on the 35 but I stay away from too much hype because it only means one thing... more $$$

                • Sorry about ignoring the sign

I guess we'll just have to play the waiting game and see if the Ed35s are snapped up. With the whole world economy at the moment seemingly about to enter another big crunch (AUD just fell like a tonne of bricks agains the USD in a day!), there might be another promotion next June ;P

The thing is, I don't know how you guys get such good deals on yr cars. The ones I reached out to all refused to budge on the promo prices. I think the lowest base 5 door DSG GTI I could find was abt 43k driveaway with zilch options on. Not even BT and MDI!

Or I probably need a refresher course in negotiations skills

I think us QLDers don't get the same deals as NSW and VIC is far more competitive. Although $44.5k for my 2011 build CW GTI with Detroits and BT with full tint was pretty good...

If you can afford an R35 what are you complaining about a few $Ks?
Would be chump change to the likes of you.

Well some good advice... don't go to dealerships during promos

EVERYONE goes and so there are plenty of customers, many of whom won't try and negotiate further, so there is no lack of competition and the dealer is in the prime position. Go when there is no promotion, customers are scarcer, so the dealer not only has more time to negotiate and talk to you, but you've are in a better position because there aren't 10 other customers all trying to buy. Dealers might be more eager to meet targets too etc.

I paid only about a grand more driveaway for my R.

I know which one is better value imo.

                            I was younger and foolish

And financing was cheap in Singapore.

Foolish indeed...Not many places in Sg (if any) that you can open up the R35 or put it's abilities to good use. Would've been like a caged cheetah.

Foolish yes but this is the country where no car means no pu**y.

And there is this neighbouring country where speeding tickets can be negated by $$$...so guess where to take the fast car to on weekends and every other chance.
