Certainly looks the goods. R motor w/ R bits (tails).

It'll be a shame to have the lag + fwd though.

At least in my regular StageII GTI it's only the FWD I have to battle with.

There should be minimal lag with a Stg 1 tune and probably none with Stg II.

So keyless go/start isn't even an option on the 2012 in Australia? Bummer.

Stg1 reflash on my S3 made no noticeable difference to the lag. It's easily the weakest point of the car.

Agreed... really need the Stage II to start getting the power band down to the range of a regular K03-based GTI

My experience with my Pirelli using the Stg 1 Bluefin tune is different, the lag was noticeably diminished - to the point where I really happy with the way the car drives now. Power delivery is now a lot more linear.

You're possibly right triode12 - the other "issue" with the S3/R is its weight, and AWD losses... so it's quite possible the Pirelli gets rolling at a few hundred lower RPM?!

That is quite plausible...however, when I test drove the local R, the lag wasn't as bad as my Pirelli - my impression anyway.

I'm sure I saw one of these today on the Northern Rd at Penrith about 7:40 this am. Tornado Red, LED DRLs and taillights. He was going the other way at a combined speed of about 140 km/hr, so can't be any more specific.

As I have been telling him, he just needs to get in touch with his feminine side and he will be right.
