True, it is cheaper but it's a case of "less is more" for me. I don't think it's inconvenient at all. It's just me that uses it. I might have 1 passenger every fortnight. I think it looks very balanced. Perhaps that's why they tend to use the 3dr for most of their marketing brochures as it shows how good the golf can look, but when people buy the 5 dr they will undoubtedly see something isn't right but justify it by touting the convenience angle

Exactly. The 3 door is always used on the brochures. Sometimes the Australia brochures are photochopped later on to add in 5 door models etc. It's been common to have a brochure with ONLY the 3 door models, when you can't even get them here! hehe.
There's a good reason that 3 door is THE hot hatch way. Look at the Scirocco, the Focus RS, the Renault Clio and Megane RS models, plus older Renault turbo models, Pug 205/206 GTI, 306 GTI.... the list goes on and on and on with 3 door only hot hatches. I think it's great that the Golf is available in 5 door versions for those who want to use it as a Camry, but hey - 3 door is where it's at - stop kidding yourselves
mmm I thought the definition of hatch was the rear door not the number of doors.. and this combined with a performance engine.. how this then equates to a camry is beyond even my warped reasoning..
The answer I am sure lies in the colour

Oh I've had it wrong all this time. Thought the brochure always showed the cheapest form of the model on offer so they can quote the 'From only' X dollars.
What's wrong with the camry?
Golf R, Rising Blue, 5 Door, DSG and some extra fruit.
Viagra on 4 wheels !!
