Update from the dealer. Apprently the last sales manger put the order through, and never "completed" it. So when the new guy started he just assumed everything was all in order, even went in to meet him, and start chasing him up on my VIN Number etc so I could track it on the way over here thanks to the awesome thread showing you how ! (it was on the Tristan, unloading in Brisbane day before the HEIGHT of the floods here, had sleepless nights over it being on the dock under water, turns out didn't need to worry).

Update today is they think they have found a car some-where down in New South Wales, so sorry if I'm stealing your car New South Wales person (well not that sorry means mine gets here within the next week !)

will just have to see how next week pans out.

Guys, Bod's topic is rather off-topic. It has been discussed in detail in the How To Track Your Car thread as well as the Golf R Observations and Questions thread...

There is also a specific thread called http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f112...red-44376.html

Loss of a couple of doors and DSG is a good thing in my opinion regardless of make and model.
Personally rising blue is a loss though, as the silver just isn't for me.

Back on topic, this month's WHEELS magazine has a good write up on the frog RS as part of the Car Of The Year test.

As much as I'd love the RS 250 (more-so than the Golf R), the depreciation of Renaults really does scare me (but it's great for people like myself that snap up second hand bargains like my Clio 172).

That said, I really think VW needs to lift it's game regarding supply. No waiting period should be much longer than the time it takes to ship here from the factory (so 4-6 weeks inc going through customs). This 4-6 months crap VW is constantly pulling for its Golf R/Golf GTI/Polo GTI's is absoultely abysmal customer service and I'm not suprised people are starting to get fed up and looking elsewhere.

Hmm, not sure why you think that they don't hold value that well, I know you have one yourself, but I was very impressed with what I got for my Clio when I sold it. It was an 06 model and I sold it in 10' and it held 50% of its value in 4 years. I found that quite impressive. Redbook says the Megane 250 is holding 63% of value in 3 years so that aint bad either when you consider some other prestige cars which can hold as low as 40% of their value in 3 years!

The reason behind the delays. Note BMW and MB are also dealing with supply pressures but are managing to keep up (less volume?).

The RS Renaults tend to have better resale values than the the run of mill Renaults IMHO.

Thanks Silver Don't worry all, I definitely will let you all know how it goes! Looking at a Wedesday pickup, can't believe I have to endure three whole days of work before I pick her up..

Although, I should not be complaining about waiting 3 days when you think about it....

Still waiting for my Meggy. Two wheels were damaged in transit by the clamps they use, and unfortunately a conti tyre was damaged as well, and I am waiting for the replacement to come from sydney. At this stage ETA is early next week.
