I've said it before, and I'll probably say it again... Fab, your car is VW PORN.

It's also begging for a professional photoshoot man!

The 18s look just right in these shots I reckon. In the first shot, 19s would look almost too big.

      • Yeah - the 19's start making the brakes look too small

That's a good idea actually, I'll get fab in contact with one (a fellow dubber)!

          • Sure... if I was being given the car... cause then I'd be able to sell them for more to get some nice 18" BBS etc with less of a cash change over

+1 on 19s being mandatory! 18s are weak.

              • I'd rather have 18's, better grip, less weight.
Why would you pay for an inferior option?

Exactly!! If you prefer 19's you musn't be a driving enthusiast. The extra weight effecting all aspects of handling, rubbing etc.. they are too large for a Golf period. Sure 19's may look better to some ppl but that is the only 'pro' all other aspects are 'cons'.

                  • Yep... it's been discussed before, but the standard 18's on the R may ALREADY be enough of a performance compromise! On the GTI in track tests between the 17" Denvers and 18" Detroits, the Devners lap quicker! Lower weight plus more absorbsion of bumps etc...

Noticed you have a little german badge on your boot. Did u pick up one of them locally or over the internet?
Just used Color Splash, something a little different.

The German Badge i picked up on eBay $30 for a pair of them.

If having 17's meant having smaller brakes, then the detroits would be "faster".

Yeah, but if it had 20s with bigger brakes but tyres filled with cement it would be slower.
