That would be worth a perma-ban.

Good to see all you guys are finally picking up your cars after so long. The wait is probably the most exciting part.

Wow, wasn’t expecting such a response!

Thanks for the positive feedback and was glad to be the R guineapig – I’m very happy with the results (even though the photo doesn’t do it justice) especially when you’ve left it in the sun for 10mins, it really brings out the gloss. To be honest, most people think it’s painted and not vinyl.

The vinyl cost me next to nothing when packaged with the Ventureshield, so was a no brainer really – I also have the option of pulling it all off, when and if I ever get tired of it.

I saw a sample of the carbon fibre wrap and it looked and felt just like the real thing! Pretty cool but wasn’t my cup of tea.

With the ever increasing amount of R’s on the road, I thought this would make it a little more unique than the rest.....for now.

Can’t wait to see some custom spray jobs down the track!

Yeah theres a pic of a mk6 tornado red on golfvi forums with the carbon fibre wrap but it looks cheap to me. I dont mind the gloss vinyl seeing it goes well with the 5 doors and wheels, not sure i would like it on a 3 door tho.

          Edit: Found it

Sweet. Red is right. :D But as "some" has stated. Itz needz moar loow! :D

Who'd you get to do the Ventureshield and vinyl for you? Any feedback on them?

The nice blokes at Autografika in Canberra done the job and it was their first attempt at Ventureshield on an R (apparently have done quite a few GTI’s)

The results weren’t too bad but quite a few water bubbles remain underneath. They have reassured me that they should evaporate after a couple of weeks and if I’m not happy after that time, to bring it back in. Not sure whether this is a common occurrence or not but would think that they should of been ironed out when applied.

              Time will tell...

LMAO man I love it. First thing, I rode home surprisingly the whole way in comfort mode.. Pure bliss, relaxed and littered along no problems. Best option I chose I reckon other than DSG.

Bluetooth is awesome but it does not show up the song names on the car..? Have to use the cable for that?

Dealership delivery experience, despite missing the OG sales person, was excellent. Job well done Denlo.

Ok I'm going for a drive, ps Corey venture shield where and how much

Yeah, for song titles and to control playback via your steering wheel controls, you need the cable.

I'm getting my Ventureshield installed by the best place in Australia, Surface Tech (previously Ozicozi). Costs start from $695 and go up from there, depending on what you decide to get done. They can do everything from the basic 1/2 bonnet/front guards kits, all the way through to full car wraps. They can also bundle the G|Techniq full application (so both to the paint AND ventureshield surfaces) for $295, instead of the $595 many charge. Make sure you grab a bottle of Permanon whilst you're there. Makes it much quicker to wash and dry your car (and stops brake dust from sticking to your alloys too!)

They're based at Artarmon. Give them a call on (02) 8084 6879 and speak to Mark or Andrew and tell them I suggested you speak to them. If they don't answer on that number (cause sometimes they're out at Ferrari etc), you can call Andrew directly on 0425 299 977.

And congrats on your car man

My ventureshield has he same thing (water bubbles), and Ozieshield who fitted it assures me the same thing.

Mine also lifted in areas of the front bar which now has dirt under the edges...
Credit to them though, they will fix it all no problems.

You get what you pay for, Theracingroom did mine and it was perfect but then again cost $1399 for full bonnet and all the rest.

Hopefully it is like with tint and evaporates. never heard of Ozisheild but ozicozi used to be slow at returning emails.

I tried using comfort on the way home tonight and decided I wasn't in the mood...back to sport lol. But you're right, the ACC is money well spent IMO. The dealers would sell heaps more cars with it if they had demo's with/without! Did 333km's on the first full fill. Think it was 50-55L worth without checking. So around 17-18L/100. Fine with me, though it will drop heaps once I settle down a bit.

You get that some times. I noticed yesterday the window tint isn't that great. Told the dealer that I'd go past when I have time and can part with the car long enough for them to fix it. No problems.

Oh and having never seen/touched a 3dr since getting mine, I have to say the seat fold forward mechanism is fairly crap. Never seen a car that needed you to pull it up, instead of lever left/right. Though if that is all I can complain about then, yeah its near perfect!

No no.... it's perfect. It's an intelligence filter. If your friends can't figure out how to get in, then you just leave them at the kerb

LOL actually I did a pre-emptive strike the first time, but that logic is much better!

If I had been patient JaseVW - i'd have an R exactly like yours.

Just had my new wheels fitted yesterday.

                                A couple glamour shots..

And straight off the camera - paint looks fantastic in this light.
