I think it's cool... but I'd love to see someone go that extra step and actually get proper black paint! Vinyl just doesn't have the same depth as paint

I think it looks cool too, but yeah agree gloss black paint would look awesome. Love the black and white look though

Agree, gloss black paint looks a lot better but takes more gonads to do it (and more expensive i'm guessing?).

Yep. Love the black on white theme.

I like the black rims but would have love the same with red line accent even more - just to give it some definition instead of just whole lot of black.

I think that on a Candy White GTI, if you did the roof with black paint, but with a red boarder around it, and then black wheels with red around the rim, that would look hella cool! It'd tie in awesome with the GTI signature grill! But red lines have no place on an R

I agree, and glad I changed. Love the wheels and everyone so far has commented at how great they look in 19's. Really fill the guard and suit the car well.

Damn, I was hoping someone wouldn't do it before I got mine. Yeah now I know how black vinyl looks, I might go further and try the matte carbonfibre vinyl for mine. If no good, hairdryer and fingernails, and tear it off..

I was just at my dealership, dropping off my greenslip to them for my Golf R that I'm picking up on Monday. There was a Blue 5 door R in the showroom. Then I remember REXman is picking his up today, so I checked the VIN number, and sure enough, it's REXman's. So I took some photos....

How mean do you think it'd be to post photos of someone elses' car before they'd even seen it themselves!? lol
