    • I got my R at the end of Sept 2012 for just under $48k and that was for a Rising Blue manual with 19 inch silver Talledagas, black Vienna leather and tinted windows on a corporate deal. The vehicle was ordered from the factory so took a while to arrive but got exactly what I wanted at what I consider a really good price.

Best ever deal (under $48k) on an R new, optioned like that, I have ever seen, even with the top tier VW Corporate discount.

              Congrats, remarkable.

Ours was fairly basic (leather and DSG only, fridge white) and with top tier corp discount plus an extra discount on top. We didn't get anywhere near that.

I ordered it on Jan 2 2012 and the contract date showed a delivery time of May. May came along and no word about the car. After numerous calls to the dealer and VW Customer (no) care they advised that the car hasn't even been given a build slot. The dealer kept telling me I could cancel the order with no penalty, I think they realised that the price was too low and were hoping that I was going to cancel! It finally got delivered at the end of September, well worth the wait. I am now thinking about getting the engine tuned to Stage 1.

                • So that price is drive away?

Well done, no, very well done. Without the 19s and leather, the price would have been mid $43k! Seems I didn't negotiate all that well.

At that price I'd be driving away laughing my head off at the dealer.

Next time I'm buying, I want the name of the dealer as he clearly has NFI

                      Remarkable price indeed

That price was indeed drive away with corporate and corporate plus discount.

                          Sutherland VW was the dealer.

I've never heard of someone getting corporate AND corporate plus discounts given its a tiered system not cumulative?

Is it a lease car so the figure does not include GST?

I achieved a similar price driveaway for mine, but with only dynaudio as an extra and it was on the floor so they wanted to shift it.
