I ordered it at like 3am one morning whilst not sleeping due to waiting for my car to arrive, so I got the "Ultra-Clear" version rather than the "Anti-glare" version. During normal waking hours, I might have twigged that "Ultra-Clear" means supershiney and therefore reflective, but oh well.
It arrived well packaged and with simple 3 step instructions. It also included a little cleaning wipe to ensure the RNS510's screen is 100% clean before placing the protector on it. This thing is sized SO EXACTLY that it's almost impossible to get the damn thing on! A very steady hand and even a long finger nail to wedge underneath the screen trim and run along the edges to get the protector down is a big help.
Once on and the top layer protection removed, it looks very impressive. Makes the RNS510's screen look very much like an Apple iPad display or something. It is very clear and also rather shiney. The finger prints don't seem too bad from the drivers point of view, but look very obvious from straight on or from the passenger view - but it is easier to clean than the standard screen.
In hindsight, or if I was to install another one, I'd probably trim 1 or 2mm off two edges (one of the long and short edges) so that it's easier to install (and remove). I'd also probably get the anti-glare version, just because I have never been a fan of the shiney screens.
I am happy with the product though.
Clarivue offer a lot of pre-cut sizes as well as custom sizes and a whole heap of sizes made specifically for many popular devices.
Oh yeah... and shipping to Australia is free!
Are the screen dimensions of the RCD510 and the RNS510 the same? As in if i buy the Clarivue Volkswagen RNS510 Screen Protector it would fit fine on the RCD510 right?2011 MKVI Volkswagen Golf GTI , APR Stage 1

Just select the option for the RCD510. You'd still need to trim it a little to make it easier to fit on.Originally posted by sek View PostAre the screen dimensions of the RCD510 and the RNS510 the same? Yeah good call, to be honest, If i was ordering again, I would not get the SAT NAV I reckon.. (or would I..?).
Two and a half grand for something I could have had for $150? Meh.. Its pretty cool but I barely use it. And the DVDs dont even work whilst moving!! (so whats the friggin point?)2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

+1. In built sat-navs date the car at about the same rate as laptops of similar vintage, my mates 2005 model looks about as good as a first gen iPod.Originally posted by Ideo View PostI'm just as happy with my tomtom to be honest.
Didn't get satnav and don't miss it.--------------------------

And it should not cost more than $1000 considering what you get. (you can buy a 32inch Sony FULL HD for $900, and strap a tom tom to it..)
Yeah like I said I reckon its cool, but all the functinality they "sell" in the brochure is a bit of whatever. The SD card slot - haven't used it yet, HDD - havent used it, DVD - doesnt work anywhere but your driveway.. Yeah 2.5K is too much for that "luxury".. on the other hand, to me - ACC is worth $3K and the Audio is just a treat.2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Same here, didn't bother with SatNav option when I ordered. Still rocking with a very hacked Garmin Nuvi 255W that does the job.Originally posted by Ideo View PostI'm just as happy with my tomtom to be honest.
