After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Went back to work last week to find the headlight globes from PowerBulbs or whatever they're called had arrived.
Fitted them last weekend (tricky but quite easy if you can reach inside) and have only tonight given them a test at night.
Definitely notice the lights are brighter and whiter which is great. The picture on the packaging showing 100% more viewing distance is a bit misleading though, since the lights are dipped and hit the road virtually at the same distance (maybe a couple of meters better now).
Looking from behind the car when I unlocked it and the lights came on it looked great too, was tempted to take a photo but the quality would've been rubbish.Comment

I installed mine yesterday. I can hardly see a difference over the stock globes which were average at best. I also noticed a sizable shadow right in the middle of the road which is more obvious when I flick the high beams. Wondering if my lows are badly adjusted or if I'm just used to xenon on my other car...Originally posted by Ryan_R View PostComment

Yeah I'm starting to think the same. They're just brighter and whiter in car parks etc where you're up against a wall but since they're still dipped at the same angle you don't really see any further.Comment

They're not OEM, but a copy. You can get genuine for that price, via the German VW dealer that many of us have used.
