The exhaust will be a bit louder anyway with the new down pipe so that should keep you happy - especially when you put your foot down.

Wheels look really nice. Throw up a pic once you have fitted them. Do you have some low dust pads to go with them.....those spokes will be fun to clean otherwise.

Been thinking about it for a while. Few people in Sydney i know have it done. Would like to see one in person before committing to it as i want to see the quality (bubbles/dirt/edges etc).

Just got my kit. Will try it this weekend. If its not too hard to lower I will keep it, otherwise, reversing the brackets and adding a spring sure looks like a good alternative.

                      • And the Big Man said "let there be LED light" and behold...

                        ...there was light...

                        ...and he was well pleased.

Having now gone for a weekend cruise I can vouch for the 42DD sound - there's a touch more rumble on start and a little more once the foot goes down, but otherwise does not sound much different from stock (which is what I wanted.. otherwise a catback would have been in order).

Haha, no low dust pads for now.. would like to do something with these at some point to improve braking a little. Gave the wheels a clean up after the cruise and yes definitely fiddly, but I guess if I wash regularly it won't be too bad. The benefit of the graphite finish is it hides some of the dust too.

I will say that I have some front rub though - will need to try the fender screw mod to start with and go from there. The rub was only on very hard left cornering where the road dipped/cambered to the inside of the corner.

A very bad picture attached, mainly taken for Greg Roles' benefit so I could show the 42DD tips going on the back.. I will have some better pictures done shortly for the pic thread to show off the 'finished' product a bit better. Although once you start modding I'm not sure there is a finish..

                          • After much umm'ing and ahhh'ing I picked up these tail pipes off eBay. I'm still a bit undecided on if they are nice or rice

The stock ones are just boring/dirty, nothing like the GTI or R ones. I've got GTI pedals, GTI-esque steering wheel and GTI power (APR) so I figured they were worth a shot.

Why not, everyone needs a little rice

                              • I think they do look nice. I'm still waiting for my own exhaust tips from an eBay seller in China, it's been two weeks already.
