Thanks Corey. I was looking at just ordering these Cargo Blocks only, but the link you posted makes it look like you need a particular (looped polywear) mat to stick the blocks to. Surely the velcro just hooks up to any old carpet mat, the factory one included? Maybe it's not strong enough with the normal mat. Makes sense but thought i would ask before i order a $68 mat

That's true. Looks like the most recent addition to their catalogue is this 'heavy duty' set.
I'll wait a bit to see if any owners chime in, otherwise i'll order it and post my findings!MY11.5 5dr GTI // Carbon Steel / DSG / Detroits / RNS510 / Bluetooth / Euros

Another thing... sometimes the sun reflects off my RNS510 screen and i cant see the damn thing. It also gets fingerprinty.
Read about these Clarivues earlier in the thread but cant see if anyone ended up with the matte cover. Good reviews of the Ultra-clear but nothing on matte that i can see.. anyone picked it up and finding it useful? Also if anyone in Perth is cheap like me and wanting to do the 'Buy 3, get 10% off

I have the matte, but I don't remember what it was like when I didn't have one on.
Only thing you have to be careful about is putting it on properly, since they sized it so exact that you would have trouble taking it off.Golf R 5 door United Grey | DSG | ACC | Leather | Bluetooth | 19" Talladega Black

I also have it — I found I had to turn the screen brightness up quite a lot to be able to see it in full daylight.
Also they claim that any bubbles that remain after fitting will vanish in 48 hours — this isn't so. If you don't get it to sit flat first try, the bubbles will be a permanent feature.
Right sod of a thing to fit if, like me, you're old and clumsy.

On the way home today i was annoyed with being unable to see my RNS510 (it was sunny) and then with my shopping rolling around in the back (i bought tomatoes). So i decided to get both my items!
I've ordered a clear and matte Clarivue. Figured this would give me the option, and seeing as everyone's been having difficulty with the fitment.... if i mess it up i've got another one
I also went to order the heavy duty cargo liner/organiser but the (REDACTED)... I'll just order a cargo net on eBay instead.
When i get all my goodies i will post pictures.Last edited by easeup; 02-08-2011, 01:07 AM. Reason: Realised that i broke Corey's rules from post 1 ;)MY11.5 5dr GTI // Carbon Steel / DSG / Detroits / RNS510 / Bluetooth / Euros

Car was vacuumed first and the screen was carefully cleaned with the same stuff I use on computer LCD's — I seriously doubt there was any dust.Originally posted by Corey_R View Postbubbles come out... bubbles with a speck of dust under it don't...
I've fitted similar products to portable devices and had no trouble (other than my normal hamfistedness, of course...)
Even tried rolling them out without success

yeah - I followed much the same procedure.... but I grabbed out a hand held microscope and there is a dust particle under the damn bubble... I guess cause the car is a carpetted environment (floor and the fabric on the roof) and the clairvue backing is slightly sticky and probably statically charged, I picked up a dust particle between removing its backing and getting it secured :/
