Since you are fixing all this stuff to day, send me a doctor, just banged my head on the garage door and woke up to find myself on the floor - farking big bump on my forehead.
Luckily I must have missed the R when I fell.

Glad you missed the R and I hope the garage door is OK, the bump will go down!

Enjoying the car now, I guess that is the important thing.
The annoying this was that VWA have no idea what was going on. I called up in Jul 12 asking for an update and they said it was still a dealer order and don't know when it was going to be built.
I called the dealer and said given the wait I wanted to cancel the order, they said to give them a day to follow up. Few hours later they call back and say that the car was actually built and was waiting to be loaded on the ship.
After given the VIN was daily check up to see where the car was, suck that it took the long way to get to Perth
Have you got your car yet?
I was tempted with the Focus ST and even thinking about the 328i although the price was significantly higher
You seriously went through my exact experience, all they could tell me up until July was that the factory had the order! But that was all, they didn't know why it was taking so long to be built.
I ended up getting something else as it turned out, not because of the wait, but because I was able to get the only other car I wanted at the time by chance. I was told they were unavailable. Ended up spending more and not sure I'd have been any unhappier had I bought the R, in fact I wouldn't have known any different. But doesn't matter now, Thinking of convincing the wife to buy an R now so I can experience both. But then I'll have to wait another 12 months............ Have fun with it and the maybe the wait made it all the more exciting at pick up.
