Well perhaps you were unlucky and got a bad set or something. No squeaking or any noises whatsoever, no fading, no chattering and they brake well from the first application. Mine are absolutely perfect, and i have 2 other friends running the Remsa pads now (MK5 GTI and a Mk6 R) and both friends are very happy with them as well.

If not Remsa, then get Bendix, ProjectMu, etc etc...whatever...something else to reduce the dust.

It might also be beneficial to understand if you are referring to the "correct" Remsa, as there is an American Remsa company, and then there is also a Spanish Remsa. Im talking about the Spanish one.

Furthermore, the guys from GSL Rallysport said that they use the Remsa pads in a large range of European cars, even Lamborghini's / Porsches etc. Im sure if they were not a good quality pad, then they would not be used in these high end vehicles.

^ just get Remsa brake pads guys......less than $250 for the complete set. You have probably spent more than that on wheel cleaners already....

Brake dust is reduced significantly - about 70-80% less.

That's what makes me hesitant to buy them. I would much rather the dust come from the pad surface than the rotor and the OE dust, being black, would indicate that is is from the pad. Simple physics?

Your a hard egg to crack. If you could point me to where this info is "well known" id like to read it. The way i see it, is the stock disks normally don't last more than 60-80,000km anyway (which is a pretty poor life span). My mate has been running the Remsa pads on his Mk5 GTI now for approx 25-30,000km and i looked at his disks yesterday (when i was servicing his car) and his disks look perfect still.

Each to their own obviously, but for me, the abundance of pad dust was something i couldn't stand. Plenty of other people on here are running the Remsa pads (im talking Polo GTI's / MK5 GTI's etc) and the only "negative" comment ive ever heard about them was from Candyman.

Saying rotors look perfect is not really a reliable way to determine their condition. I think measuring them would be a more accurate method. If you did measure them, what did you find?

No measurements - just a thorough physical inspection. There is no lip on the disks (to indicate alot of wear) and the disks are nice and smooth (no scoring) and the disks are still quite dull which is what you want (not glazed).

The disks on this particular car were changed at the 45,000km service (as per the service records). The original owner of this car lived in Sydney so i assume alot of stop/start traffic.

The pads appear to have about 0.9cm - 1cm of pad material still left on them, which after 25-30,000km of mostly city driving in a DSG car is pretty good.

Got sick of the dust also. Easy fix is get yourself a $200 kartcher (hi pressure cleaner). Takes less than 1 minute every two/thee days and wheels are a gleamin'

So we are back to the Eagleone product.. spray it on after cleaning and it lasts for 2 weeks and costs ya 12 bucks

I am a huge Pressure washer fan, especially on the car.. just be aware that the wheels are clearcoat same as the paintwork on your panels. Be sure to give this some thought when cleaning your rims as over time i suspect high pressure cleaning will deteriorate the rims at close range.

I rinse the rims down with the pressure cleaner at the same distance as I would the panels then hand wash.

I sprayed a fair amount of DuraGloss All Wheel Cleaner (Car Care Products / Duragloss / Exterior / Wheel Cleaners / All Wheel Cleaner) and then got the hose out (not pressurized) and 70% of it just washed straight off, the rest dealt easily with a wheel brush.

For more regular cleaning this could be a quick solution as well.

sonax extreme wheel clean. get it from your local autobarn.

clearcoat safe... i didnt even have to use a brush - two years of caked on brake dust that even cut and polish wouldnt remove (i was getting desperate), and sonax just melted it right off.
