The Official Mk6 Golf DSG Clutch / Shudder / Squeal Issues Thread
Is the vibration a result of clutch slippage? It feels like trying to accelerate in too low a gear if you were in a manual car.

It certainly feels that way. I dont really get why its more apparent when the car is warm though.

More power is available when the engine is warmer? Is it an actual slip or shudder?
One test i used to prove slip was floor the accelerator in 4th gear in manual mode and the tacho would jump. However to achieve that clutch wear was pretty bad.
Perhaps try doing that in manual mode from 1500 rpm in the odd gears to see what happens. 3rd and 5th should be good.
Fwiw some of the loan cars i drove with the dq200 did have shudder in 1st on standstill takeoff and low km on the odo
I wonder if the supposed 2012 version of the clutch pack is the same thing thats going into the Mk7's. Oh perhaps the 7 speed dsg for the mk7 is a different design altogether. Surely you'd think it's a much more robust model than the one we have at the moment. So one would hope that all replacement parts from now would inherit the new design. I've read a few hundred pages worth of causes etc etc.
1. faulty shim?
2. faulty mechatronics
3. just crappy dsg shift points in general leading to abnormal wear and tear
The DSG recall in China, did they identify what the cause was?

Whilst mine is a 6 speed, I've been feeling a bit of a shudder lately and it's just feeling rough in general with gear changes. Should I get it checked out? Doesn't happen all the time

The dsg in the new golf has a NEW code. 0CW is the new code. 0AM is the code used for the dq200 in the mk6 golf, jetta and scirocco. New code must mean something.
Mechatronic replacement is for jerky shifts and no power to wheels when in D mode. One can drive on faulty clutches. Usually mechatronic in need of replacement leads to more serious or inconvenient scenarios.
Went to Burwin today for the annual service. WOW.. from the moment you drop the vehicle off, to picking it up - it's 5 star service all the way. Or at least that how it feels compared to past experiences at other dealerships. A real thumbs up to Burwin!
Have the car booked in next month to get the clutch packs replaced so that's fantastic news for me. At the same time, got to drive their courtesy car (also a golf) the shifts seemed very smooth and felt much tighter and stronger. I found out later it had the new clutch from the MK7 already installed. Overall a great experience, and as many have recommended Burwin, I would like to chime in as well!

Booked the car in for a new clutch pack under warranty, the shudder in 2nd gear was getting unbearable at times. Car is a 2010 Jetta 118TSI.
If you can, until you get the clutches shift the gears yourself in tiptronic mode. The mechatronics dont allow as much slip in this mode and kick down to 1st more willingly.
