Btw, I'm thinking that maybe the C34 code is for cars with the 19" wheels only. Maybe it's to indicate the "wheel arch (wing) extensions"?

I would say that's correct, I am getting black 19" wheels.

On our internal pricing and invoicing system the codes for 5 door and 3 door are different. However on the Volkswagen Ordering System (Nadcon) both cars have the same model code, but the 5 Door has an additional option of W4B (4-door incl. power windows rear) and the 3 Door does not have that code.

So my dealer has got back to me already! (yes, on a Sunday, hehe).
He has confirmed that W4B means 5 door, and placing a minus in front of the W4B removes it from the NADCOM planning page, effectively subtracting the 4 door option, so you end up with 2 doors.

Something else I've noticed is that my car's current ETA status is as follows (I've only put in ones with dates on them):
Current SGW Determination 30/07/10 (this has a 'dot' next to it, so I presume it's the "in progress item".
Handover to production 11/09/10
Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales 1/10/10
Exit Production Plant 6/10/10
Arrive Port of Shipment 11/10/10
Departure Port of Shipment 19/10/10
Arrival at Port of Destination 1/12/10
Departure from Port of Destination 1/12/10
Arrival at final Destination 2/12/10

Things to note, I purchased my car on the day of release (12/06/10), and NADCOM doesn't have steps for compliance and customs etc. My dealer put a 30th November on the ETA of my contract, as many others have. Hopefully things progress a little quicker than is in the ETA data, but I thought I'd share this with everyone so you can all have realistic expectations of where we're at

I'm hoping it progresses quicker also as if it they don't arrive until early December into OZ it's going to be mid to late December before we are likely to receive them.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I am borrowing my sisters corolla. Have been since I sold my car end of march and now it's starting to strain a bit.

I got told today (Sunday) that it's looking like a December delivery. Gutted cause I was expecting an October 15 delivery (I'm a new VW buyer so I don't know the system I just went off the contract estimate).

I have to decide what to do car wise but I think I want to hang onto the golf dream as it's a great car. Just gotta work out what my sis can manage with me.

Yup, I requested it from Dermot to make sure my order was as I expected it to be, not that I would think for a second that dermot would make a mistake of course

Oh and my build week is week 37, I was pretty much told not to expect the car until probably Feb.

Ok so going by this Coreying you ordered your car a clear month prior to me....So I assume I wont see my Golf R until possibly late January :O. Emailed the dealer about this print out you speak of...just gotta wait to hear back.

Yes and no. In the case of the R, it's not necessarily first in first served. My manufacturing week(s) are 37/38/39 like most other peoples here. If 10 cars get to my dealer on the same day including my own, then I hope that is a case of first in first served. But since the Australian Golf R orders appear have been scheduled to be built in a batch, it doesn't necessarily matter when you bought it, just what batch you end up in (although I'm sure anyone who bought today will probably miss on the 37/38/39 week batch).

What he said. My entry date was 26/05/10 and some other system on 17/06/10. But planned production week is still 38.2010.

The dealer still has the same car I demo'd in June which has done nearly 4000kms and loosened up nicely apparently. I'll be taking it for another hoon later in the week to see for myself...yep glutton for punishment. I should just pretend the car doesn't existing until mine turns up!

Confirmed my R is in the proposed week 42 build but still adamant it will be in my grubby mits by late December at the latest
