Exactly. Overseas pricing models are not relevant here where the R is very aggressively priced, and cars like BMW's and Audi's are pushed out of direct price comparisons due to the Luxury Car Tax we have.
Styling comments are neither negative or positive, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder (I seem to be saying that a lot lately!).
Standard seats - fair enough... white material will always get dirty quicker. Boot space - again, completely true, there isn't much you can do about that.
How on earth ANY Volkswagen fan can think that the R not being as lairy and "look at me" as a WRX or a Focus is a negative thing is beyond me. If I wanted a lairy car, I wouldn't be looking at Volkswagens, I'd be getting the damn Focus RS or a WRX etc. The fact that the R is refined and so well balanced is why I, and I'd say most others, are purchasing it!
