The privacy tint is still blocks UV so you don't have to do the rear windows. Some tint guys try to sell you transparent UV blocking film which is unnecessary. My tint guy said that what they said is just bollocks.
It's a bit of a grey area what the dark glass is, but i haven't bothered doing clear anyway.. stuff it.

I've got a test drive booked in for saturday believe it or not with my dealer...for 20 minutes....haha. They won't give it out for longer than that (long list), and at this point, it's only the DSG model they have as the test car!Scirocco R - Candy White / DSG / Panoramic Roof / RNS510
Mods - HPA ECU & DSG Stage 2 / VWR Racing Intake / Akrapovic Slip-On Titanium Tips / Milltek DP / HPA Mounts / Superpro LCA / H&R Sport Springs / VMR V710 19x8.5 / Michelin PSS 255-35

If they are determined to get in, the film isn't going to make much of a difference.

Yeah, a 6.4, 6.6 and 6.3 second runs in the manual - and 5.7 seconds in each of the three runs in the DSG. You can see the video on youtube here

driven!
i was lucky enough to get a 20km test drive in it today. it looks better in real life than in photos, much like the scirocco.
was a silver, 5dr DSG with leather as the only option.
needless to say, i jumped into the car with sore cheeks from smiling so much, and stepped out of the car with the same expression.
even being detuned, the R is still very quick. balance and handling is unreal. i was curious what the exhaust note would sound like in real life, and if i had to describe it, its a combination between the GTI and R32. deep rumbles with pops.
it revs furiously, particularly past 4000 on where it redlines in an instant. imagine if you had the full 199kw on tap...
the stock suspension on 18's feels pretty much like my mk5 GTI, maybe a touch stiffer. for me i would definately option it with ACC where sport mode will make that extra difference.
still, for a usable, practical, daily car - i honestly can't fault it.
mk2 GTI 16v
