MY11 Models - Changes + New Unlimited Kilometre Warranty

Hey Guys.

There are a few MY11 GTI videos on you tube.
This is one of the few. You will notice that the "ESP off" display is shown in the tacho instrument cluster (a change which we have been told).

A few of the other videos clearly show the different steering wheel logos on the right side of the wheel.

Just on a side point... is it just me or is the red coloured trimming on the edge of the tacho/speedo new?

I've seen on overseas models that you can have 'Rear Seatbelt Warning' as an option.

Is this standard on our 2011 GTi/R models over here as i believe it would be handy, especially for those of us with kids.

The "Rear Seatbelt Warning" is tied in with the "Rear side airbags" (bringing the total up to 9 airbags from the standard 7). It's also only available on the 5 door models.

It's not available in Australia.
I'm not sure whether it ever has been (I really don't care enough about the 5 door Golfs to have bothered keeping track of non-3 door information).

Apparently, the MY11 Mk6 golf 90tsi (trendline) the optional comfort pack is now standard.

I again refer everyone back to Post 4 of this thread for the official MY11 Changes for Australia list that was provided to dealers (I may have resorted the list or reworded some of the items, can't remember now).

If the change is not on this list, then the dealers don't know of it!
In addition, there has been no update to the specifications or price lists to indicate that a previously $2,200 option is now standard....

So no electronic climate control, auto wipers/lights available on the 90TSI ?

The diesel manuals are being discontinued? Another disappointing casualty of our automatic-obsessed nation. (Not that I can talk, it only took a ten-minute test drive of the DSG to convince me that I wanted one.)

Thats weird, because i just recently switched from a polo to a golf over the weekend, and the dealer said everything in the comfort pack minus the 'auto headlights' in in the my11 trendline.

So thats : 15" , multi function steering wheel, dual climate control, rain sensor, auto dimming mirrors, cruise control and MFD.

Or have i been told wrong?

ALL MY11 Passenger and Commerical Vehicles now have a 3 Year Unlimited Kilometre Warranty

That will be a very welcome change for some, and not mean much to others! Nice to have though.

My wagon should be here late October, the dealer was saying that the my 11 vehicle has an upgrade on the radio ( larger screen ) supposedly better radio. l'll let you know next week .
