Hmmm our dealer has two still in stock - their total allotment from VWA. It seems like they aren't really selling maybe? He says 200 only brought to Australia.Golf 7R | 5 Door | Limestone Grey | DSG | Sunroof | Leather | Driver Assist | Tint | Formerly GTi11.5

I don't think people have problems with Adidas per se - they do make great products. It is more the fact that VW trying to cash in on their branding rather than putting out a limited edition that is really something that is worthy of the title.Originally posted by Parky View PostAdidas is a classic German sports apparel company.. They invented the leather football studded boots, just like VW invented the hot hatch GTI. In Europe they are well respected. Im not ashamed to say I wear Adidas boots for soccer and have a few Adidas Chelsea jerseys + Jackets.
Why all the Hate?
I'd say its a great combination for a limited model..

Yeah, im positive. One on the ramps, one out the front on the grass and two by the fence. Its the wheels that makes them stand out, but apart from the logo on the side you wouldnt be able to tell is was some limited special edition. Its not until you up close do you see the LED tails.
I dont think its peoples perception of Adidas, I certainly dont have a problem with them and they make some good stuff. Im of the opinion that apart from a few branding differences there's no need to have this over the standard GTI. Especially with what it costs to get one on the road you are starting to look at Golf R money ... and who would possible choose this over the R is beyond me. My only question is who are their target market for this trim level?

Same I reckon too. Adidas also sponsor the NBA which I am infatuated with. I understand people have their market position of things.. That's all it is. The car is great version of the GTI.. And has a heap of extras.. And apparently according to Kojarena, there are only going to be 200 of them.Originally posted by Parky View PostAdidas is a classic German sports apparel company.. Hahaha... I think you are all missing the point... The ugly interior does something I didn't realize could be done... It makes the already ugly Mk6 GTI even uglier... It's like it was on fire and then put out with a bike chain....

I Suggest Gen Y and Gen Next.. all the research points to this age group being drawn to brands.. if the generic GTI doesn't grab them then maybe the recipe of German branding will get them through the door.. my guess it wont quite hit the mark because VW is not an inexpensive option for the young unsOriginally posted by Souljak View PostThis is a "forum" is it not?

Oh trust me, I'm a winnar!! I honestly think the Mk6 GTI is the bug eyed WRX of the Golf stable... And the Adidas tops it off!!Last edited by Blitzen; 13-02-2011, 07:34 PM.

Only one problem..Originally posted by Blitzen View PostHahaha... I think you are all missing the point... The ugly interior does something I didn't realize could be done... It makes the already ugly Mk6 GTI even uglier... It's like it was on fire and then put out with a bike chain....
a) GTI is a handsome car. Its so far from ugly, It could sleep with a YARIS and still have good looking children.
b) all this coming from an owner of what might be one of the ugliest cars in the decade worth over $20K.. the polo gti. Sorry dude, but definitely not feeling the last model - at all.
c) The Box. Back in it.2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Not too keen on the seats - a bit tacky.Originally posted by Corey_R View PostAlright boys and girls. As originally shown at Wörthersee earlier this year, the Golf GTI Adidas is coming to Australia!!!
It'll be in limited numbers, much like the MKV GTI Pirelli.
RRP $45,990 + ORC
5 Door DSG only
In addition to regular GTI features and inclusions you get:
Adidas seats & stitching, gear knob and heated seats
Bi-Xenon
Bluetooth
LED Taillights
Media Device Interface
Serron 18" Alloys
Also much like the MKV GTI Pirelli, the options are also more limited, with only the following options available:
ACC
Park assist + RVC
RNS-510
Sunroof
And finally, the only two colours are Candy White & Tornado Red!

I'd have to agree that the MKIV Polo GTI isn't the best looking car out there...but it ain't as bad looking as the Yaris or Swift. It is also IMO the most fun to drive of recent VWs. It may not be the best performing in stock form. But IME, it is even more entertaining to drive than my Pirelli, the MkVI GTI, the R and new Polo GTI.Originally posted by REXman View PostOnly one problem..
