Good thing we haven't had a proper Summer down in Melb in a while then

A/C on max cools it down pretty fast

      Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of the input. In defense of my wife it appears as though the seats were different, insofar as they had the bolster adjustment set differently. The salesmen didn't mention the adjustability of the seats, despite us both mentioning that it was quite tight. We're going to go with the cloth seats and am now just trying to find the right mix of options.

      Thanks for all the help.

Mate if you need to convince her to buy a GTI, you in fact need a new wife. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I can't keep my missus out of my GTI, I swear sometimes she just makes **** up, so that she can take it somewhere

              GTI Seats

Just reading the superb story on seat comfort in the skoda dept , have to say the seats in the GTI MKV1 ,are the most comfortable i have ever experienced , be it short city commutes or long hauls .

Over the last 20 years with a mix of BMW , HONDA ,SUBARU and SKODA , nothing beats these babies , well done .

+1. They are very, very nice.

Does anyone know where I can get GTD seats from? A few searches recently have come up empty. From the pics I've seen so far, it doesn't look like it has the model embroidered into the headrests like the GTI, so they should be a good fit for a TSI

Plus the grey tartan looks more subtle then the red.

                    • Mk6 GTI cloth interior wear

                      Hey guys
Have had my gti for few months and the car has done 3,000 kms and its mainly driven on weekends for longer trips. I've noticed that the drivers seat outer side bolster trim is fraying. It looks like someone has gotten some sandpaper to it.

I am a very fussy owner and am always carefully getting in/out etc. All my previous cars have had bucket seats but by this rate the seat trim will rip before my first service.

Anyone had any issues? My car is a 2 door so I know due to the longer door maybe it little squashier getting in at car parks etc but still its car upholstery I would assume it should last more than a year.

                      Any experience with this?

                          • Replacement Front Seats for MK6 118TSI

                            Hi there guys
Well, i've finally cracked it and talked to VW, going to take the car to get "looked" at at a dealership.
Over the last year, i've had back problems, which is a direct result of the sports seats in my golf.
After drving some other cars for a few weeks, ive pretty much confirmed this.

Has anyone had their seats replaced in their MK6 golfs?
Mine had the sports pack, which was seats similar to the fabric gti seats.

I want to keep the car, and I don't also mind spending some money on "fixing" the seats, whether its getting hold of some other ones on eBay or from a wrecker
Anyone got an idea on new leather seats for the front would cost? ive heard they have more adjustments on them compared with the normal seats.

                            Thanks

                            • Where in NSW are you? I might be interested in your seats - what colour are they?

I have normal seats in my octavia, but I would like sports ones.

Occasionally seats come up on gumtree and ebay. For leather is usually about $1000 for a pair.

                              • Im in Newcastle, Id be looking at probably just trying to get two new front seats, but keep the old ones.

the trim on my car is sort of like a grey square stitch
