Not really. Even on the MKV the DSG was picked over 75% of the time. Now with the MK6, the feedback is even more strongly in favour of the DSG, as many say that the manual in the MK6 isn't a particularly great one.

That's funny, I reckon it feels better than the manual in our Mk5.

Yeah I don't know Lima, I personally haven't driven the manual MK6. But there are reviews after review (both GTI and R), and personal opinions on the net from people that have driven both (even back to back) who say that the MK6 is disappointing.
Several have even said that the throw is all wrong, and that it's too easy to hit your hand on the dash in the odd gears. I can only go on those numerous reports since I haven't tried it myself.

yeah, i drove back to back on the GTI Drive day, although i only got to take the DSG to the track. had a hoon around the carpark in a manul as it was the hardest thing for me to decide this time around.

In the end i didnt like the feel of it and felt the DSG suited the engine better.

Thank you again, Dermot, i am agree all of yours above, it is true for this theory, but when the reality come to you, then the thinking will be difference, lol.

I just spoke with my father in HK, The GTI nearly equipped full options and, with auto folding mirror!(or it might be full optioned as standard, point me if i was wrong) the price is just around 310,000 HK Dollar, covert to AUS, only 46000 sth.!!

anyway, this is Australia, high import tariff....

I think what you also need to factor in is the cost of transportation, if you have a look at Australia's geographic location you will understand that we are a long, long way away from Wolfsburg. While HK is a business hub and has a major shipping port. You may also want to think about the different specs that we get here in Australia compared to that of the US model. Could there be a difference in specs for the HK version?

Now if you had said candy white yes (with camera, Dark glass,MDI) I do wish this thread was popping around last tuesday I had carbon steel 18" ACC Bi xenons sat nav cloth and Hole in the Roof but sold. Have one in leather .. if that helps..

I had the same thing happen to me. See my signature for rue car I've ordered. I've been told on the phone yesterday "Early July". Instead of September. I'll belive it when I see it however.
