They haven't got the particular combination of seal skin floor mats, yellow metallic paint , 3D reversing cameras and radar cruise control that most on here seem to want

On a more interesting note.... the ones listed for NSW are in the vast majority DSG versions. Has VW got it wrong with the manual/dsg split?
Black seems to be the most numerous (silver/white the least)

Not really. Even on the MKV the DSG was picked over 75% of the time. Now with the MK6, the feedback is even more strongly in favour of the DSG, as many say that the manual in the MK6 isn't a particularly great one.

they are just advertising their dealership, i am sure after you sent a enquiry, they will ask you to come to them and then tell you there is no stock, and you have to order one

            Give it a go

I am not convinced on that logic... why would a person select "Brand New Cars in Stock", contact a dealer and then be prepared to wait 6 months for a car - lol The intent, surely, when checking that selection and searching on a national site is that I don't want to wait

I have to say though the prices being quoted are rather high. So, perhaps they are smart. They are putting their product out their for a customer base who doesn't want to wait.

What you are suggesting (i think) is similar to the bait and switch. That is technically illegal in NSW.

That would be false advertising and highly against the law, they have advertised the car and VIN number and stock number which means that the car is in stock.

from what i saw last week whilst shopping for mine, most dealers here in vic had stock of GTI's, but either with just sunroof, or leather as options.

I think once you start optioning up, then you have to be prepared to wait, or maybe they have one on the shop floor ready to go.

Essendon had a red one fully optioned and camberwell had a white one 2010 with number plates GTIVI with a fair few options also.

I can also confirm that Parramatta Denlo in NSW has at least 8 MK6 GTI's in stock (as of two weeks ago anyway).

I think this is the big difference between the MK6 and MKV. Sure, if you custom order a car it's going to take 6 months to get here again. But there is still plenty of stock in dealers if you're ok not custom ordering. For the MKV release, you had practically no chance of getting a car in stock, so everyone had 6 month waits.

Hahaha, Essendon VW tried to sell me the red one. Which means that the car has been sitting there for two or so months...

We have 15 GTI's in stock.

Fully optioned cars are hard to come buy though, not aware of any in WA.

Have VW ordered in too many DSG equipped cars?

Volkswagen didn't order our cars, we did, and we order what sells. I have one Manual, which has not even been on a test drive in 6 weeks.

It is quite possibly our demographic. We see alot of professional mature males buying GTI's, who generally opt for the DSG. The occasional Manual we sell is usually to a Pomm, generally under 35, and usually will want a pretty standard car.

If anyone wants to put their hand up for this Manual we can ship it over!
