What do you class as gapless? When one song fnishes the other will start straight away, so there will be a "gap" towards the end of the song as it is fading away.
If there is a "gap" between the song then it is only basically for 1 second.
Dosen't seem gapless for me.

Yeah on albums that don't have gaps one song starts immediately after thr previous one with no gap.

The mdi is turning out to be a flimsy POS.

Yeah can't complain, not have a pause between tracks (if i do i dont notice it).
BTW where do you keep your phone when you have it hooked up to the MDI? In the small compartment next the where you hook up the cable, or in the same compartment to where you hook up the cable?

Mate i have it hanging out so i can see it and i also make sure that the arm rest is in the higher position so that it doesnt squash the cable. i find i forget the phone when its in the compartment where the plug is!

I dont think so, im not listening to albums and all is good. I think it is great. Just dont like where it is placed (Center console)!

My iPod 5.5g video fits in easily with the cable, i havent tried the iphone but sounds like they are slightly taller?

i dont have an ipod but i use an usb to play my music and it works fine.

Yeah there is no real place to put the phone in the "MDI Area". Better to leave it hanging out.

Prob easier to use a separate USB/iPod and just leave it in there.

My last cable was in the glove box so couldn't be bothered plugging the phone in anyway, and annoying having to unplug it evetytime you leave the car.

Does anyone know if there is an extension cable for the MDI? Like can you plug in a cable to the ipod MDI cable which extends it so i can place my iphone elsewhere?

Don't really like it hanging out the front or even in the console compartment.

You could just buy the cable from the retrofit kit, is at least 600mm long from memory. It would plug directly into the MDI.

Yeah will i called em up and they said they don't sell those so no luck. Ill just buy an extender online and see how it works.

I don't know of the extender but I guess the long cable is part of the mdi kit then but should be able to order any part number?

Thought i would test out the iphone & MDI today - i noticed that it can skip a song whereas my ipod doesn't.
Neither start playing at the first song when you hit > on the album folder.

May mention this to the dealer when I go in, but probably won't even do an audio upgrade if i can't get something this basic to work (and get an exhaust instead).
