Mine was on same ship - Morning Conductor that docked at Port Kembla on 08/03.
Well, it's here! So 10 for my dealer!

Some pichers taken tonight - sorry if poorly snapped and sized wrongly. I would blame it on the point & shoot but it is just me being lousy at photos.

Darn, I am fearful for my licence; it is so easy to go fast in this thing.

Anyway, my GTI was sitting on that ship too, was dropped off in Fremantle at the start of the month, WAY too early, I was expecting it end of May! Not that I'm complaining, but I didn't exactly have the cash handy to clear the loan on my XR5.

Sorted it all now and will be picking the car up Monday, will post pics as soon as it's home. Looking forward to it I hope it's a good one!

I’m a happy man.

Picked up my 5 door Rising Blue baby on Wednesday at 9.30 am from the very helpful Heath at Berwick VW (highly recommended) with 15kms on the clock. As of midnight on Wednesday I had racked up over 1000kms driving it back from Melbourne. Did it without a hitch and in extreme comfort. Handled some heavy rain around Bombala with ease, overtaking was a simple matter, even keeping it below 3,500rpm and the Dynaudio system is bloody great.

Really loving this car. I’m up to 1300kms already.

Dealer called this morning... my car, which arrived on the Morning Conductor into Melbourne on 6/3 has finally arrived at their dealership yesterday. He reckons I can pick it up next Saturday 2/4 just to be sure. All that time - 10 days - to do pre-delivery. Sounds too long but at this point I am pretty much over it. Actually considered cancelling the deal yesterday and buying a s-box to drive instead but the wife REALLY wants this car.

Damn... I though my dealer was overstating just to be safe when he said I would have my car about a month from when it docks. Sounds like that is actually about right

My thoughts exactly. In the real world, you're not going to notice .3 of a second to 100kph. And an old-school manual is just plain more fun!

Definitely not -- I got the same estimate. My car is supposed to land the 3rd week of April, with estimated delivery mid-to-end May. Dunno what takes them so long really.

Well just took the jump and ordered by first VW ever!

Golf R 5dr DSG Black
- black leather, sunroof
- mdi, bt, sat, dynaudio, camera, ACC
- black 19"s

I wasn't sure if to go black or silver wheels (lots of black) but I had a chance to see a black R with the same black 19"'s and it's certainly an aggressive and unique look!

With this I'm going to say it depends on how many cars come into the port in question, I'm up in Brisbane and mine was cleared in a week out of customs, but with you guys down in Vic and NSW I would expect more cars to be unloaded from the boats which would take longer to clear..
