There is no rattle from the door hinges and the b pillar noise has been mentioned throughout the thread as being the cover is loose.

i've read through the entire post, keeps mentioning applying on rubber seals..? can someone post a pic? that would help...
because my door doesn't have seal?
it's just the metal door hinges....and where do u apply on the bpilllar?
The rubber seals are those that run around the door and around the door frame on the car.

Rattles are nothing to do with the seals, the seals cause a creaking mainly as you enter and leave driveways when the car body is twisting. If you do have rattles they are something else, the b pillar noise is something to consider but you can read about others experiences in this thread as well as how to replicate the noise.

        • the rattles sounds like from the door hinges...the lock..
does the Gummi pflege fix the door hinges?

          • Sorry alphabeatsco, I merged your thread here but didn't have time to explain.

Basically we have a lot of people who think they have a rattle in the door, and then it turns out to be the B Pillar trim. Or they have a squeak in the trim and it turns out to be the seals. Or they have a squeak and it turns out to be a "not quite yet rattle" in the door or B pillar, lol

Cars are a terrible environment for determining noise origination, so we group them together because it gives people the 3 most common possibilities if they think the "noise" is coming from the "general door area".

Look at each one and determine what it is.

No, Gummi pfledge will only fix noises coming from the seals (both rubber and felt). If you definitely have a rattle, then determine whether it is the door or the B Pillar. There are instructions (and last time I looked pictures) on how to fix both. Since both of those require some dismantling of your car though, you may want to visit the dealer...

but how do you actually fix it? I need a permanent fix.

                      • Driver's door panel rattles at speed/ RNS510 steering controls

So, on the weekend i took my 11.5 GTI out for a spin to York in WA along the beautiful Great Southern Highway.. some fantastic 110km/h blind corners along that route. I have never driven such a torquey little beast before, and the DSG's speed is fantastic for overtaking. I also had a chance to try out my launch control. Burnt some rubber.

However i noticed a loud, pronounced rattle behind the interior driver's door panel. Seems to be coming from behind the shiny grey panel/fascia above the handles. Comes about at 105km/h... never any lower. Sounds almost exactly like a small screw has come out of the panel and is rattling around in there. On super smooth roads it's only just there, but on a rougher country road, it's unbearable.

I'm taking the car into the dealer after work today to get some VCDS coding done for the RNS510 they fitted. Hopefully his will fix an issue with my steering wheel audio controls where the volume stuff works, but previous/next does not. I'll ask them about the rattle too, and let you all know how i go.

I wonder: has anyone else had a similar door panel rattle in their Mk6 Golf? I'll be getting a tint soon. Do they need to remove interior panels to tint a Mk6? Might be an opportune time to tighten the screw.

                        Cheers

                        • For reference all, Osborne Park VW had my coding troubles fixed before i could finish my cup of free coffee (or 47k $ coffee depending on how you look at it)

Apparently there were other integration features i didn't even know about activated as part of the same "code patch". For instance, my MFD now shows me what street i'm on, as well as details of the current music. Also, they've changed the colour scheme on my RNS510.. not sure if like it or not. It's all red, brown and purple...

AFAIK i am now driving a perfect GTI except for window tint, VWW sticker and- annoying 110km/h door rattle. I arranged with OP VW to rip off my driver's door panel at the first (7500km) service.

Keen to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem?

                          • I know you've asked a few questions, but your main topic was rattles. Try and place separate questions into the separate and existing threads. Cheers. Btw, the answer to the rattles questions are already in here...

                            • My bad Corey. You're right the questions are answered in this thread. Unfortunately looks like my rattle will mean taking apart the door panels, no Gummi for me, so i'll definitely have to leave it for the service. Cheers

                              • Got a new one/maybe the same one that I have missed.

I had the rattle which had the gunk put on it at the dealers, no issue there. Have had another rattle from inside the B pillar (basically inside the adjustable seatbelt mechanism). Did a long sweeping bend on McCarrs Creek Road (Church Point end heading west, camber drops to the inside, I was on the outside) and I actually heard something roll, drop and then rattle around inside the B pillar.

Anyone else had this? Can’t be bothered taking it to a dealer until it is due a service, but don’t want to risk seatbelt issues either.
