There is flex is all chassis in every car ever made. The reason you get door seal squeaks in some cars is due to the type of rubber used, and friction with products used to clean / polish / wax the car. Yes, the advice in this thread works. No, you're not just "covering up" a problem...

A 3 door will generally flex more as you one single opening taking up 2/3rds of the passanger comparement compared to a 5 door with two openenings each taking up half the passanger compartment.
The difference is that you have some rubbish on the rubber seals and/or the paint that it touches hence why it makes some noise.website: www.my-gti.com

I've heard a bit of a noise from around the left a-pillar trim area that's more noticeable when going over little bumps in the road. Haven't had a chance to pinpoint the exact location.

No doudt they will fix the problems when it goes back , I'm glad I optioned the active damper control so I can atleast adjust the rattle noise levels.
Some else I know hows the same rattles in the same place's .
Just incase you bring up Lexus again ,my 6 year old Maxima 177K on the clock doesn't have rattles.

Got my car back from getting a few things fixed up.
Clicking noise - according to the dealer, there is a TSB for it. I don't know what the number is. Issue occurs in warmer temperatures when it's sunny. Apparently, it only affects the front doors. It has something to do with the door lock mechanism, and nothing to do with the b pillar trim.
Creaking - technician said there is no real fix for it. He said it stems from the rubber seal that VW has chosen for the MK6. It's different from what was on the MK5. Although what coreying has been saying about cleaning the door jams and not polishing them will work (eventually), the quick fix is to use silicone (i.e. Krytox) on the felt strips at the top of each door (the felt that makes contact with the metal frame). Tech said there is no harm in doing so, and it's also the only way they know how to really stop the creaking. Whether this will harm the felt, I have no clue. Have to trust your dealer I guess. No creaks driving in to work this morning.

whatever it is or was, the tech said they use silicone on the actual felt itself to cure the creaking...it's also solved the issue for me, as cleaning the door frame and applying krytox to the rubber seals did not solve the issues.Scirocco R - Candy White / DSG / Panoramic Roof / RNS510

I've noticed the B-pillar clicks even when the car isn't moving (just idling) must be when the heat is on it. Pretty annoying.
I wonder if the TSB is as good as the rear washer drips where it doesn't fix anything..
The rubbers squark as well, and that's without waxing the car. They did the same thing on the MK5..

I would like to thank "fryad" for recommending "Gummi Pflege (from WaxIt, Melb)" in a previous post to this thread (page 3). I bought some last week and it has fixed the last remaining door rubber creaks on my car. Actually, when you use it, remember to apply it to the rubber strip that runs along the forward edge of the back door ... you know the one that runs the full height of the car and that the front door closes on to. That was the last little sucker that was squeaking until I "gummi pfleged" it!! Yes, it sounds quite disgusting but it isn't, it's a godsend!MY10 Golf VI, 118TSI, DSG

i wonder how many people who have a golf actually have this problem (as a percentage)... there are no squeaks, ticking, clicking or any sounds on my GTI (other than the sweet sound of that brilliant engine revving and popping) but there seems to be alot of feedback especially on the 118TSI's.........Golf GTI MY11 Mk6 Reflex Silver 18inch MDI RSC BT Dark Tint G|Techniq - Buya!

VB lets you add polls after threads are made if you have the right permissions (I'm a mod on another forum and can do it). You could ask one of the super mods or admins I guess.
