Bit of a headache so I don't want to trawl through the photo thread, but does anyone have a close-up photo of the rear of their Golf that shows the lip just under the rego plate? On the left side of mine, the panel seems to have moulded itself around a hidden screw-head which I'm sure wasn't there before.

It's more an out-print. Looks like a screw is hidden underneath that lip, and and the panel was pushed around it very hard, but or the screw was pushed up from underneath.

Last car I had was rear ended and I had two of those imprints on my bumper plus slight imprint of their number plate. Both imprints were from the number plate screws. The centre of the imprint is where the plastic wasn't compressed due to the shape/space of the screw. If you grab a similar size screw head your will find it fits into the inprint.
