2 weeks in, hit a kangaroo and it was om my bonnet at about 45k. Verry lucky damage wise.

The other night it was wet and my car went sideways off the car ramps only slightly grazed under the fromt bumper though

              • Life was sweet - after having my first Mark6 GTI for only 5 months before being written off, waiting 6 months to get a replacement, then for two and a half years not a scratch on it - until a few weeks ago when someone could not tell when the line of cars at a traffic light ended (with me).

I thought I was smart by having a towbar (for transporting bikes and small trailers when gardening) for protection, but alas the vehicle that picked on me was a Toyota Hilux with a roo-bar which went straight over the top of the towbar. At least I saved the money on the carwash I was heading to!

I have been driving a hire car (Mercedes-benz) now for two weeks and still have another two weeks before I can pick up my GTI.

Now I wonder will the Mark6 be the same or is a Mark7 looking good in the near future.

                  • Newbie with a smash car

                    Hi guys,
                    I am a newbie in this forum driving a TSI 90 MK6
And actually found u guys looking for panel beaters in google as i just crashed my car
Never had any accident here in aussie so just wanna know any good panel beater around Clayton area..
                    List of damages visible:
                    -bonnet&grill
                    -front bumper
                    -left headlight&front fender
                    -radiator
-some plastics on the engine area

Car cant be driven due to damage to radiator (leaking).
If any of u guys able to give me rough estimation the cost of fixing my car it will be much appreciated
FYI I only hv 3rd party insurance so this comes out of pocket

                    Cheers

                    Danny

                    • its going to be very hard for anyone to give you a ball park figure, and even harder without some pics to at least go off.

Im sure you are probably better off approaching some local repair shops either with pics or trying to arrange someone to go and have a look at it.
