Hi mate, you had already started this exact same thread to ask the exact same question. There's simply no excuse for that since you created the first thread, so you can't claim that you "didn't know it already existed" and you "did a search and didn't find it".
I've given you a very minor infraction for "Exccessive Pointless Posts", simply because I'm at work, and yet I have to spend time cleaning up since you couldn't be bothered to do the right thing.......
To 'update' you on your question though, as per Lima's post, the current information we know is that it may be launched either with or closely around the Golf R. The Golf R's launch date is (unofficially announced as being) on Saturday June 12th. Hope this helps.
Adaptive cruise control is in my order at $2000. I think the benefits are worth it, but it is top price IMO.
the adaptive cruise control is absolutely brilliant... my only argument would be a GTi with it??? Why? In the Passat CC - brilliant, cruzy drive thru the vinyards, but GTi? - would never use it. Too busy flying around corners at high speeds

...does anyone know if the perordered models will be delivered when it is first release or will we have to wait until some stage after the orders like the tiguan. Which apparently when it first came out dealers were give a set batch of cars and they could not place specific orders until after the release. Any info anyone can provide would be great.
VW releases models with a "launch stock" - generally quiet high optionend cars with stuff most of us wouldn't put into the car. You can place an order & the dealer will try to macy your order as close as possible to the launch stock. If you are not flexible, you'll have to wait for a factory order.

Why get any options then.. Personally i wouldn't get adaptive cruise control on any car, all these things add up and make you lazy as a driver and you probably lose focus because you become to rely on it anyway.
Just a FYI, seen a bunch of R's and GTD's on a back of a truck heading down the M5 (Sydney for interstate peeps) a couple of days back, was there a journo/dealer driver day down south in preparation for the launch?
Cheers S....

So as my car arrived on the Oberon today, I thought I would wonder down and take some happy snaps of the ship.
We came around a courner and hit the mother load.
Golfs were a plenty, I got my first look at a GTD (Damn Nice), even cought sight of an R (Very Damn Nice). and there were a ton of GTIs (Always Nice).
There is something special about seeing so many Golfs fresh of the boat.
Hi Golfitup,
Where is the best place to see the cars coming off the ship?
MY20 Golf R - Dynaudio Excite 400w Premium Audio System - Panoramic Electric Glass Sunroof - Lapiz Blue
MY17 Tiguan Highline 162TSI - DSG - Driver Assistance Package - Panoramic Electric Glass Sunroof - R-Line Package - Pure White MY10 Golf GTI Mk6 - 5 door - DSG - 18" Detroits - Sunroof - Leather - Electric Seats - Sat Nav - MDI - Park Assist - RVC - Deep Black Pearl - SOLD! MY13 Polo GTI - 5 door - Bi-Xenon's - Panoramic Sunroof - Candy White - SOLD!
If you drive towards the ship (just follow the road) you will see all the cars parked. This is provided that your particular ship docks at the same place.
