If thats the horizontal row of what looks like 4 LEDs below the lights at number plate height then yes, well the 3 door in NSW has them. I'm a bit behind with all the Mk6 features

3 door could just be vehicles borrowed from NZ as it would be the closes market with them available for press use only.

Under the current import rules, if VW brings in that model, then no one else can do a private import correct? Maybe they're doing that to stop private ones. Maybe they're for racing or maybe just to piss us off!

Well it would make logical sense to bring over a few NZ vehicles for press use rather than bringing out a number of vehicles that cannot be used for the local market.

Unless of course they will be using them for local market sales and no one in VWA has any idea about what s going on anywhere in the country (also likely)

It just seems stupid as to why they would bother importing a 3 door, even from New Zealand as press cars, when that model will not be put on sale in Australia? So why bother?

Why wouldnt your import cars that are actually going to go on sale?

Then again I read that VWA had brochures of the R32 with the 3 door config, yet there was no 3 door option avalable at the time or something like that.

I also wouldnt be surprised if the talk is true about them stopping the 3 door GTI, yet VWA wont change the brochure, which has images of a Red 3 door GTI throughout the entire thing.

There is talk in the Golf GTD Thread that they are only going to import the 5 Door GTD. So if they are also going to importing only the 5 door R.

Then it makes sense that the rumors of a 5 door only GTI will be coming around soon.

So with all these 5 door only Golf Configurations, it would be nice to think that VWA will import the Scirocco line-up to have a 3 Door alternative? mmm Scirocco R....

5 Door GTD - is completely different market from GTIs and 5 door is perfect for family 'quickish' diesel
R on the other hand should be 3 door standard with 5 door 'maybe' option

Yeah, one of their guys asked me if they could use the pic, and I just assumed they would credit AUSmotive, as I would do to them in a reverse situation. C'est la vie.

I spoke to my car dealer just before, and he said that he has no offical confimation, but has heard the car may come in at the low 50k mark! Not the Mid 50k mark that alot of the Aussie car websites are reporting. He said with the removal of leather, and the view that the Audi S3 is the same car, and has the same engine, they would not price it as high as what people may think.
