Front and rear parking sensors are standard on the Passat and Jetta. Rear parking sensors are standard on the Tiguan 147TSI. So, yes, you're probably right that VWA does not provide front and rear sensors as options, but they certainly can be standard.

And park assist does not seem to be an option - not available overseas and no reason to think Aust will be any different. Hence Coreying's point about reading the posts on the previous two pages.
haha the excessive thread posting and me posting that offering parking sensors as being odd on the Golf R is hardly anything to hold a grudge and be precious about. Its an internet forum that people view in their free time, its hardly anything important in the whole scheme of things... I am not posting offensive information that warrants the attention I seem to be getting.

You make a good point regarding the Tiguan 147TSI and the Passat and Jetta. But as I said its just odd for the Golf Range, as its not standard equipment and its not even a factory option on any of the golfs on offer in Australia, thus the reason for my previous post about it being odd.

But I am keen to find out the RRP of the cars. And now after people emailed this PR guy for VWA who replied and essentially confirmed that the 3 door was not coming, yet we have photographic proof to prove otherwise? that is also quite odd.

Well, to be honest, I am singling you out here.

Directly below your post on the previous page (but not in response to you):

And at the bottom of the previous page:

So the reason I singled you out is that you asked a question which I had literally answered twice in my last three posts before your post. In addition, as others have said, VW do include front and rear parking sensor on several of their 'premium' models.

In any case, I'm happy to move on.

Before I go to bed, here is the actual option list as we know it, including prices:
      • Electric glass sunroof $1,900
      • RNS510 satellite navigation system $2,500
      • Dynaudio 300W premium audio system $1,300
      • RNS510 with Dynaudio 300W premium audio $3,500
      • Media Device Interface $270
      • Rear View Camera $500
      • Adaptive chassis control $1,500
      • Vienna leather appointed upholstery $3,300
      • Micro fibre/leather racing style front seats $5,300
      • Electrically adjustable driver‘s seat (only with leather, not with racing seats) PB3 $600
      • Talladega 19“ alloy wheels in silver $1,300
      • Talladega 19“ alloy wheels in black $1,300

      • Sorry for the Parking Assist vs Parking Sensors confusion guys, I had them ass backwards. I said parking assist, but meant parking sensors lol Would never get parking assist myself, but could see the sensors being handy in tight car parks.

Thanks for posting up the pricing, it is much appreciated.

However how do you explain what parso_rex has said that he has photos of rear, SIDE and front parking sensors on the car he saw...

          • It's ok. Sorry for me being grumpy too! I had a very long work day filled with an excessive amount of stress and work load. Enjoy the options list

            • I found a rather novel use for park assist the other morning. It's really good at parking in heavy fog

He wasn't talking about the parking sensors. He's just saying that he has photos of the rear of the car, side of the car, and front of the car, totalling 5 photos. He was actually talking about the 3 door R.

His sentence wasn't very well presented english, but if he was talking about sensors, he'd have obviously written '6 all up'

                It's no issue man

hmm according to netcarshow pictures, the original golf gti was 3 doors, well pictures only.

For me a hatch should be 3 doors, it is suppose to be slick and small car. 5 door is just simply squashing an extra 2 doors in.

I know alot of people have 5 doors, i'm not trying to offend anyone, because they are more practical.

I read it as parso_rex's got pictures of the car. There was no mention of parking sensors in his post. I would have found it odd that having spotted a 3-door Golf R on the docks, he would hone in and take pictures of the sensors.

                      NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *slaps G-rig* hehehe

Park Assist is NOT available for the Golf R

I wonder whether everyone will read it now!

Maybe if you had a useless gf/wife that can't reverse parallel worth a damn?

Never had one that couldn't myself, but I'm sure they are out there judging from soccer mums I see daily during my commute

I've definitely had girlfriends that can't parallel park!
But I personally think, if you're not talented enough as a driver to parallel park, then you have no business driving a sub-6-second/250kph+ car anyway.

                              • i kinda understand park assist on a big car, because they are hard to park and judge. But for a small car like a golf?

Like coreying said, if your not talented enough to parallel park, you shouldn't drive a sub 6 seconds car... or imo shouldn't drive at all!!
