Given they're a weird looking GTI with more power, why didn't you get one?

Maybe if they were out here and about the same price as the R or a bit more than the GTI I probably would. Lighter than the R as well.

Went down the to the wharf and Golfs, GTDs Rs and GTIs galore!!

So as my car arrived on the Oberon today, I thought I would wonder down and take some happy snaps of the ship.

We came around a courner and hit the mother load.

Golfs were a plenty, I got my first look at a GTD (Damn Nice), even cought sight of an R (Very Damn Nice). and there were a ton of GTIs (Always Nice).

There is something special about seeing so many Golfs fresh of the boat.

It seems that things are close.....just got a return email from VWA this pm inviting me to sign up to the R site.
My dealer also contacted me this am stating that delivery to dealers was expected from the 7 June and release date 12 June and that his mechanics were off to a r update/training session next week. Pricing? .....nbi..... but it looks as though i can start getting excited!

Surely VWA must be going to release some details with regards to price and confirmation of release date on the R soon. If it is going to be the 12th June as everyone suggests that's not far away.
I signed up on the VW webiste (when you click the Golf R link) ages ago to receive information but have heard nothing...

I thought the Golf R was supposed to have been released last Saturday & found it really odd that there's been no media coverage to date.

But then I saw this today coming across the tunnel !
