Got my R done with HP Supreme 35 fronts and HP Quantum 52 rears/tail (after checking out these threads) a couple of weeks ago by Dave at Just-a-Tint in Ferntree Gully (VIC). There aren't really any other Solar Gard autotinters around metropolitan Melbourne.

JUST A TINT - WINDOW TINTING - CAR / HOME / OFFICE

Just FYI - There's a little bit of bubbling at the lower edges on the tail window. The tail window was done as two sections, the line is just barely perceptible (i.e. not invisible). I didn't notice any damage to the doors. Total cost ~$240. Overall - I'm happy with the job.

I went with Solar Guard Supreme 16% for the fronts and 35% for the rears as recommended by Rob about 24hrs ago and the car looks gorgeous and those films seem to go well with privacy glass. Can't be happier with the result.

On a side note, the newer Rs come with a bit lighter privacy glass. According to the Rob's gadget (I don't know what is called), it showed that the rear privacy glass was 40% and Rob told me that the newer models come with lighter glasses.

Yeah.... ~40% is what we've been measuring for a while. As far as I'm aware, it was never 35% or less.

I'm waiting for my wife's car which should get here in November and will definitely have it tinted by Rob as well although it is not a VW.

Rob has just left.. he rang me during the week with a cancellation for a 6:30 start so took it.. as all have said before great to deal with and a great job. now to get it to dry

For anyone in Melbourne I highly recommend Arma Tint Essendon. Excellent service and fantastic results. Does the tints for most of the dealerships in the area including VW.

Got the tint and paint protection package done and I couldn't be more happier. The car looks fantastic!!

If you're looking for a good place to tint in Perth, try Trent at tko tinting. Had my gti done recently and it came out shmick, and good price too. Trent comes highly recommended on several other perth car forums.

Saturdays I believe, but he is usually booked out for weeks, if he gets a cancellation he will slot you in earlier like me. Be prepared to be offered a 6.30 am time
