Nothing a set of springs / coilovers can't fix.
Oh and most golf owners do that to their car anyway to increase it's handling potential.
P.S. Nice change of argument point
How was it a change, you were saying a tiguan is basically a golf on stilts. I was pointing out that i wouldnt want to take a golf with stilts through a corner, even less so if it had 200kw.
By the way what mods are you going to perform to get this 200kw and what is the cost?

Apr stage 1 = 190kw.
Exhaust or intake for another 10kw.
The change in argument was due to you saying that owning a tiguan meant you had to give up your masculinity, and then when proved otherwise, you changed the argument to it's handling potential.
In the end, this is a thread about sunroof viability so please keep it that way.
I have never seen any good long term experience with sunroof's hence my argumetns against them.
Firstly, the structural compromise you have to make in order to have a vision area in your roof.
This isn't really an issue if the car is designed with the option for a sunroof in mind. I mean check out this image provided by VW (care of Worldcarfans):
As you can see, there is no 'structural components' in the area where the sunroof goes. Therefore having a sunroof does not affect the structural integrity of the Golf at all.

It's more of a cosmetic structural integrity.
I.e. you have a hole cut in your roof and filled with glass which is likely to have the rubber seals perish and allow a water leak point to occur where it normally would not be possible.
It would also worry me if you managed to somehow roll your car.
I'm pretty sure the sunroof would be the least of your worries if you rolled the car. The glass is laminated etc, so it will pose no more of a risk to you than any of the other windows. And as I said, and shown using the VW supplied diagram, there is no different in mechnical (is that the right word?) structural integrity between a Golf with sunroof compared to one without.
Your comments about rubber seals and water leaks are fair enough - it has definitely been known to happen to sunroofs. But then it has also been known to happen to every other window in cars throughout the years, especially cars always parked outside.

Roll your car as in when you take the Tiguan around a corner too fast after over estimating just how masculine you are???
The guy is just asking what benefits the sunroof would provide. Now to your average reasonable person driving at "normal/legal" speeds that would be:
- More or less sunlight through the roof depending upon where you set the internal visor. Also feeling of spaciousness with the roof open.
- Quicker heat dissipation after a hot day, or to be left open if parked in the sun
- More fresh air flow through the car
- Downside that you have additional service costs for servicing/fixing said sunroof (but hey if you can't afford to pay then don't play)
- You get to wank about almost having a convertible but not
- Have other people think you are a wank for having a sunroof
- Not giving a toss about what people think, because it's your car and you wanted a sunroof
I'm not trying to justify why I got a sunroof to anyone. I bought my car as it ticked the boxes for what I wanted it to have/do. I've not regretted getting mine and would have gotten the audi version of the sunroof in the S3 had I gone down that path!
The OP should just take a car with a sunroof (even ask for a loaner over a weekend if the dealer allows) to see how they would use the sunroof or not. I know I use mine every time I drive bar days when it rains (which is hardly in Melbourne). IT'S A PERSONAL CHOICE!
Pretty sure in terms of rubber seals perishing that the sunroof should have a service schedule as to when they need replacing etc (once again if you can't afford this then don't option it up).
Hahaha is that the one parked on south rd near Brighton beach by any chance?
Nah, mine was black and I live opposite the Brighton Baths. I see that blue one every morning driving to work though and makes me wonder why I sold mine

I find people who get a sunroof use it for a few weeks and after that it hardly gets used. Its also another place to get a water leak.
Yup - I had one in my Civic Sport but hardly used it.
Apart from the potential for leaks, it adds weight to the car and compromises the stiffness of the car.

Ohh, I am almost 100% sure i saw your car more than a few times on chelsea st i believe. I don't live to far from there actually. And i used to walk by that st on my way to school. Beatiful and yes...it is a shame you sold it.
"I just want to make it that little bit better, and little bit more unique."
dont need to change anything... its already a feature of the remote. just need to keep holding the button down for the sunroof to open after the windows and same with closing.
I tried doing that this afternoon & didn't open the sunroof. There might be another setting that either the dealer can do or I'd have to do with VAGCOM (which I don't have).
I think my car's settings may be a little different to others. For instance, in the loaner TDI I had recently the lane change gives 3 flashes, but my car only gives 2.... and I know this is programmable.

you could be right... i thought it was a standard setting as mine has done it since new.
