i see your point Corey, and i am finding it hard to believe that the MY11.5 does come with LED tails. my belief is that Mariani's GTI has fallen under a MY12 build, heres hoping mine has also as i dont think it would have gone into/left production yet.

i will be contacting my dealer around lunchtime today and will update with i am told.

Hi guys, was anyone able to get a definitive answer on the R tails come standard on the Gti? I called my dealer and he had not heard of anything

I asked two other trusted dealers and they both said that there has been no communication from VGA in relation to MY11.5 GTI's coming with them (as per the info in the link in my previous post). I'm also told was also no information in the MY12 update communcation on this topic. One said he thought that maybe Mariani's dealer had got confused with the GTI Adidas. One of the dealers said that they've got a GTI with Xenon's arriving this week and he'll let me know if anything has changed...

Corey... You got me paranoid now. I hope I'm not being told porky pies from my dealer. His exact words were the same front DRL's and rear LED's will be on your MY11.5. Very bizarre.

I guess it's now officially a case of fingers crossed.

If he's explicitly mentioned that the LED tails are now included, I'd ask him to provide you with any documentation he may have that is the source for this information. Of course he's under no obligation to give it to you, but I'm sure if you're diplomatic about it (and explain that no-one else has been able to verify this), then he may be forthcoming.

Yeah - hopefully you've already got this in writing, or at least email correspondence, so when the car shows up without LED tail-lights you can then have a chat to the dealer principle and come up with some arrangement.

hey all, just got off the phone with Barloworld. They have told me that the R LED tails are definitely not coming to the GTI's. Only to the Adidas model and obviously the R.

on another note I have been pleasantly surprised with an update that my GTI is now built and due to leave for Aus on the 12th! will be in the country on the 23/6. So a cut from a 6-7 month wait to a 4-5 month wait has made my day (ordered 5/3)

edit: now just hoping it comes in 3dr as ordered and not 5dr lol! thats the only thing that my Nadcon printout dont show :|

Interesting. Spoke to my guy again today, told him about everyone's comments on this thread around rear LED's on my11.5 GTI's. He is still adamant they will be included.

As suggested, ask him to send you the "brochure" or the "VAG communication" or whatever it is that he's looking at which says that the LED tail-lights are now included...

Interesting update today...

Received a call from my dealer late this afternoon. He called to apologise, as he has only recently discovered the GTI 11.5 will NOT have R Tails as a standard option. He was sincerley apologetic, and admitted he stuffed up with his info. He also Received confirmation of the MY12 updates - no more 3 door R (we all know this), Bluetooth and MDi to become standard on the Golf range.

So.. Am I getting R tails on my GTI, Sure am. He's ordered some for me from VW Germany and will fit them for me at the dealership. Yet to negotiate a price. Unfortunately free is not an option, as they are quite pricey and I already scored a large discount on my car.

Will keep you guys posted.

Well, it's not unexpected, but at least they're ordering the lights from Germany and working something out for you.

As for the Bluetooth and MDI being standard now in the MY12 Golf's. Whilst that would be great news, no one has mentioned it thus far in the appropriate thread, so after his confusion on the lights, I won't hold my breath on that one until someone a bit more reliable mentions it! lol
