Do you know of anyone with a 2011 build that has installed the LED's? And if they needed to change some of the coding differently to previous years makes?

I'm expecting to take delivery of my GTI in May and really want the LEDs but might wait until there is more info for 2011 builds.

The most recent Central Electrics revision I've had feedback on (ref coding in Australia) is 615 - see this post. That car is an MY11. I'm not aware of any newer revision as yet.

Either way, I think you'd be pretty safe ordering your tails if you want them. If your car is fitted with a subsequent revision of the Central Electrics module, someone at Ross-Tech should be able to help (eg Dana, who is a member of this forum).

I've made my order just before Easter and it was posted out 2 days ago and have just left Germany for Melbourne. This is going to be a long wait, been advised postage will take up to 3 weeks.

Based on the current exchange rate, it's quite a good price for what I've paid for.

I have my Golf GTI due in August, there was no mention of the Xenon and DRL as standard, I had to pay for the option. Where did you get your info from?

He's mistaken, or miswording his comment. The Xenon now includes DRL as standard. But Xenon is still a $2000 option....

And no. MY11.5 specs have been known for a long time, and LED tail-lights are not included in the GTI.

Just received confirmation from my dealer. My car due to hit the shores end of July. My OPTIONAL xenons include new LED DRL's. R tails also confirmed now as standard.

wow you serious about those R tails?? i ordered mine in March - due to arrive around August. i hope mine gets the R tails will have to call my sales rep next week for a chat i think.

edit: did the dealership tell you they were the R cherry red tails or the lighter euro spec optional ones?

great! i will call barloworld tomorrow and see how mine is traveling and try and get confirmation on the tails for myself! if you dont mind me asking, when did you place your order? seems the delivery times are getting better and better if yours is due late July and is MY11.5.

Placed my order in last week of Feb. Looks like the production and delivery times are much quicker these days. I have a screen shot to show but i dont know how to embedd on a post. Can someone explain how?

As for the new LED Tails... its great news for the 11.5 - If you ticked Xenon's you will have them also. They include a code titled 'PLX' lights and vision package for Xenon.

ah awesome, i ordered mine on the 5th of March. hopefully it comes sooner than later considering my order was after yours i should have the R tails also saves me buying them separately as i was planning to do so about a month before the car arrived. and yep i have optioned the Xenons - i was aware the 11.5 came with the new DRL's!

upload your image to image hosting website (i.e. imageshack) and then link it into your post. use the advanced post route and you'll see an icon to insert an image, should be self explanatory from there!

The problem with all this is that
1) The MY11.5 specifications have been known for months
2) There was no mention in the VW MY11.5 communication sent to dealers
3) You can find a detailed summary with tables and diagrams of that update detailed at Maverick's site
4) MY11.5 GTI's with Xenons have already been delivered to customers and they do not come with LED tail-lights.
5) Don't believe me, look at the pictures of an Australian delviered MY11.5 here (care of our forum member DRL

I have enquired to a known and trusted dealer about whether anything has changed (maybe with the MY12 cars for example) and will update you when I know more. But MY11.5 cars don't come with LED tail lights on GTIs. Sorry guys.
